According to an exclusive report by Deadline, Apple TV's comedy series Shrinking Season 3 has added another actor along with the main cast led by Jason Segel and Harrison Ford.
Created by Segel, Bill Lawrence, and Brett Goldstein, Season 3 has added Emmy-winning actor Jeff Daniels as Segel's Jimmy Laird's father, which is bound to cause upheaval into his already chaotic life in the upcoming chapter.
Things took a turn for Jimmy in the previous chapter, and it looks like the makers will shake up his personal life even more with the introduction of Daniels as his father.
The Apple TV comedy series, which debuted in January 2023, follows a therapist, Jimmy, who starts breaching ethical codes with his patients after his wife's tragic death. Soon, he forms an unlikely bond with Harrison Ford's Paul, a senior therapist dealing with Parkinson's disease.

Jeff Daniels is back in the comedy world with Shrinking Season 3, which will mark the actor's first foray into a live-action series in the comedy genre. While Daniels has stuck to more dramatic roles recently, he is best known for the 1994 comedy film Dumb and Dumber and its 2014 sequel Dumb and Dumber to, with Jim Carrey.
Recently, he has appeared in more dramatic roles like Showtime's American Rust and Netflix's A Man in Full. He will also appear in Russell Gunn's historical political drama film Reykjavik. He will play the character of the real-life American politician Ronald Reagan.

In Season 2, Jimmy finally came to terms with his wife Tia's death after the man responsible for her death in a drunk-driving accident was finally revealed. Season 3 will likely see the closing arc of Jimmy's grief, as hinted by Lawrence in many interviews. After coming to terms with his wife's death, the upcoming chapter will explore him mending his relationship with his daughter Alice.
Another important storyline for Season 3 is Paul's worsening death, which was hinted in the Season 2 finale. Throughout the entirety of the previous season, Paul tries to come to terms with his disease, even making amends with his ex-wife Susan, but the finale hints that his condition is worsening and he might be heading to a zone when the medicine is also ineffective.
A key conversation between Paul and Dr. Sykes hints that Season 3 will dwell more on his worsening condition and how Jimmy will come to terms with the possibility of losing another loved one.
A release date is yet to be confirmed after Apple TV renews Shrinking Season 3.
