Shrinking Season 3 kicks off production with Emmy winner joining the cast

Apple TV+ has officially started filming the third season of Shrinking. The news was shared through a video on X (formerly Twitter), where co-creator Bill Lawrence welcomed the cast back to set.

The renewal for season three came very quickly, just one day after season two premiered.

But there's an exciting addition, two-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Daniels is joining the cast! He will play the role of Jimmy’s father, though details about his character are still a secret.

How did Season 2 end?

Season two wrapped up with some big emotional moments for Jimmy. Throughout the series, Jimmy has struggled with grief after losing his wife in a tragic car accident. He also had a difficult time connecting with his teenage daughter, Alice.

In the season two finale, Jimmy finally forgave the drunk driver (played by Brett Goldstein) who caused the accident that killed his wife. This was a huge step for him because he had been holding onto anger for a long time.
