Shrinking Season 2 picks up after the events of the first season’s finale, where Jimmy jokingly told his client Grace to kill her abusive husband. However, Grace took the advice way too seriously and pushed her husband off a cliff, killing him. The new season deals with the aftermath of the unprecedented situation and how it impacts Jimmy’s personal and professional life.

Meanwhile, the therapist’s mental health seems to be going down a spiral. Jimmy might go into depression once again, as he did after the death of his wife at the beginning of the show. The therapist will now turn into a patient himself, but he has the support of his daughter, Alice, and his colleagues, Gaby and Paul.

Shrinking premiered on Apple TV+ in January 2023 and received critical acclaim for its touching storyline and amazing performances. The show stars Jason Segel as Jimmy Laird, who earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The rest of the cast includes Jessica Williams as Gaby, Harrison Ford as Dr. Paul Rhoades, Christa Miller as Liz, Lukita Maxwell as Alice, Michael Urie as Brian, Ted McGinley as Derek, and Heidi Gardner as Grace.

Shrinking Season 2 debuted on Apple TV+ on October 16, 2024, and will air new episodes weekly on Wednesdays until December 25, 2024.
