"Should have watched the show": The Challenge 40 winner Jenny West recalls her first time joining the competition

One of The Challenge 40 winners, Jenny West, appeared on Johnny Bananas's podcast on the January 10, 2025 episode. The latest episode titled, 'The Challenge: Battle of the Eras' Finale Part 2 With Jenny and Rachel on Death, Taxes, and Bananas started with Jenny West.

During her appearance on the podcast, The Challenge 40 winner reflected on her journey since the early days, when she joined the competition during Total Madness. For the fans who don't know, Jenny was a champion of Total Madness and recently emerged as one of the winners of The Challenge 40.

Sharing more about her initial days in the competition, Jenny recalled:

"I think when in my first season, I didn't even understand. I didn't know there were alliances. I genuinely didn't even...I wasn't aware. I thought it was UK versus USA. And I was like, why is everyone, like, saying, the names of someone on their team like what are you doing, like, I genuinely took two weeks to even understand what the hell was going on like, I don't know, like, I should have watched the show, um, and I think had I known about alliances, I don't think still, I wouldn't have done it any different."

During her recent appearance on the Death, Taxes, and Bananas podcast, The Challenge 40 winner Jenny West discussed a lot of things with host Johnny Bananas. Fans must remember how Jenny, along with two winners, Rachel Robinson and Jordan Wiseley, was crowned as the winner of the competition show.

The Challenge 40 winner talked about how her background check was not yet done, for which she wasn't allowed to sleep inside the house where the rest of the participants were sleeping. Referring to that, Johnny Bananas recalled:

"I remember this girl would be outside, tanning, every single day and you'd be by yourself, and you'd be there for a few hours, and you just disappear, at night, and you just wouldn't be there until like afternoon the next day and I had no idea what was going on and it was because you hadn't passed your background check for like security purposes you weren't allowed in the house at night."

Jenny joked that it might be because she might do something "a bit dodgy."

Later on the podcast, they talked about how Jenny had "never heard" of The Challenge before she participated in the show.

"So my first...I've never heard of The Challenge. It's only just, I think, started being in UK at the time, and I had nine days from being asked to do it to...to actually like flying out and filming. So I didn't even...I didn't even...Idiot...watched any of it. I was like, "Oh right! So, I'm gonna be in a hot country for a few weeks." And I'm like, yeah, get my bikini shopping done and sort of not work and everything, and, yeah," shared Jenny.

She also revealed how one of her fellow participants, CT, told her about being "really stupid" or "really good at acting" for participating in the show.
