The latest audition episode of American Idol Season 23 featured a former pageant queen, Landry Champlin, from Colleyville, Texas. The 23-year-old female participant, as she revealed, grew up listening to Carrie Underwood songs and that she was the:
"Biggest Carrie Underwood fan known to man."
Landry chose to sing one of Carrie Underwood's songs, Good Girl, for her performance. During her performance, the singer herself entered the vocals in the background. Even then, Landry's performance was impressive, as everyone appreciated it.
Carrie Underwood who replaced Katy Perry on the singing show, told Landry:
"I feel like you definitely made that (song) your own. I'm like, 'Oh man, am I gonna throw her off by jumping in at the beginning? But you held your own."
