Mark Cuban's venture on Shark Tank began in season 2 in 2011 and it was reported that his entry made the rating jumps too. The show has a credibility of its own but the talented and intelligent minds who grace the show as sharks only add to it.

Mark Cuban was born on July 31, 1958, in Pennsylvania, U.S. He is a businessman, investor, and television personality.

Mark has been a salesperson since his childhood. He sold stamps and coins to earn money. His love for a pair of expensive sneakers pushed him to sell garbage bags at the age of 12.

He graduated from Indiana University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Management. His experience of working in a software company earlier helped him to build his own company MicroSolutions which he co-founded.

Mark Cuban's next venture was Broadcast.com, a video portal he founded along with his old batch mate, Todd Wagner. However, he sold the company to Yahoo in 1999.

He also holds a minority stake in the NBA's Dallas Mavericks. Earlier, he was a major stakeholder but in 2023 Mark decided to sell 58% of stakes.

As of now, he has been busy with his recently co-founded company Cost Plus Drugs which aims to target lower prices for prescription drugs. Mark had also made some great deals in Shark Tank which added to his whopping billions of net worth.

Tower Paddle Boards, Nuts ‘N More, Prep Expert, and Simple Sugars are some of the most lucrative investments made by Mark on Shark Tank.

In 2023, the Dallas Mavericks owner announced that season 16 of Shark Tank would be his last reason as a shark to focus more on his new Pharmacy venture Cost Plus Drugs. He also told The Wrap on October 14, 2024:

"I'm leaving just to spend more time with my kids — they're teenagers now."
