Selling the City aired its first-ever season on Netflix this Friday, Jan 03, 2025, and the real estate market in New York City has never looked so glamorous. The show follows a dynamic group of real estate agents at one of NYC's most prestigious brokerages, Douglas Elliman.

This is a reality TV series that dives deep into the cutthroat competition, high-stake multimillion-dollar real estate deals, and abundance of drama within the group as they try to sell some of the most demanded properties to high-profile clients. Viewers get to explore not just life-changing business deals but also what goes behind cracking one.

In episode 5 of Selling the City, the tension within the office reaches new heights over selling a multimillion-dollar penthouse to a celebrity client. While the negotiations unravel a fierce battle among the colleagues, the stakes get higher.

Here's a recap of the episode.

What happened in Selling the City Episode 5?

The episode begins with Eleonora inviting the other girls from the office to show the ultra-exclusive penthouse at the Olympia Dumbo with the motive to give them a sneak peek into this multimillion-dollar property before it's all finished to go live in the market. It is a 5-bedroom house with an asking price of $19,500,000.

As the Selling the City star talks about all the attractions of the property, she reveals how they lost a high-profile client, Michael B. Jordan, who wanted to get the penthouse because of the unfinished construction. She proposes to the group to try and get him back, and this ignites some competitive spark among the lot.

The tension speaks in the office

Later in the episode, the ladies get into a meeting to get an update on where everybody is at. Eleonora appreciates everyone for the Irving Penthouse going live and getting it a place in the New York Times, making it a great deal. Others too share their news of different listings going live and signing contracts with their clients.

What turns up the heat in the office is when Jordyn reveals she was able to bring back Michael B. Jordan for the penthouse in Dumbo. While Eleonora is greatly impressed, Gisselle clearly is upset as she shares a past with Jordan and therefore believes her colleague at least should have informed her about this meeting.

She, however, does meet with Jordyn to express her disappointment and to talk about how she could have helped with the deal. The two get into a little heated discussion as Gisselle feels Jordyn stole a potential client of hers.

After the meeting ends, Taylor walks up to Selling the City's Eleonora's office to apologize for getting in the middle of Jade and her. Though the two sort things out, Eleonora reveals to the camera how she doesn't trust Jade completely.

Jade and Eleonora Reconcile

Later, before one of her showings, Jade decides to text Eleonora to meet for lunch and clear some air between the two, which her friend agrees to. The Selling the City stars end up meeting for drinks and food, where they open up about everything they have been holding within.

Eleonora talks about how she feels about Jade stepping into her decisions and calling her listings fake. By the end of their episode, the two get emotional talking about how important it is for them to be on one side rather than being on the opposite ends.
