Selling the City Episode 3 Recap: Sutton Tower and realtor drama

Selling the City Episode 3 was released on January 3, 2025, and we saw it start with the Ellies Awards which recognizes the top realtors in the form. Jade, Eleanora, and Justin are being awarded for it.

The entire cast is gathered for this award party where Jade gives Abigail friendly advice about the real estate business and how it is a "dog-eat-dog world." Eleanora expresses how she wants to cross the $100 million benchmark now that she has a team because she has been doing $75 million alone all this time.

The next thing we see is Steve's beautiful Greenwich mansion where Eleanora is headed. He explains that he bought the property as an investment. The two get to talking in the garden. Here is what happened on the reality TV show in episode 3.

Selling the City Episode 3 Eleanor meets Steve

Steve explains that he did not have a lot growing up which always made him curious about what is behind the "gated properties." But now that he owns one, it is a dream come true.

Taking the lead, Eleanora too explains her past on Selling the City and says,

"I wasn't born here. My mom and I moved to the States together. I grew up in the village and then landed in Soho before sort of it was what it was. I saw the African Art Musuem turn into Prada and the post office turn into Apple."

Continuing, she talks about her mother and how they struggled to make ends meet. This gave her motivation to get up on her feet and be "laser-focused on work."

This leads to Steve talking about the Sutton Tower. He invited Eleanora to have a "broker preview" because "it is not on the market yet." He also extends the offer to her team.

Selling the City Episode 3 Jade meets Taylor

Jade meets up with Taylor at Mandarin Oriental Residences at Fifth Avenue, New York, by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group on Selling the City. Jade is their sales director. Taylor, however, had not told Eleanora about this meeting. Explaining why, she says,

"I respect Jade's career. I think she has an impeccable reputation within the industry, but Eleanora likes being in control. And I didn't tell her that I'm meeting up with Jade because she can take even something simple and innocuous and be upset about it."

Even though the job is great, Taylor is dicey about it because she prefers a stable income. She politely tells Jade that she will think about it.

Selling the City Episode 3 Steve's Broker's Open

At the Sutton Tower in Selling the City, Steve is all prepared for his preview of the apartment. Eleanora and the entire team are present and even Jade visits. In the kitchen, Jade and Taylor get to talking again where the latter discloses that she is still not on perfect terms with Eleanora.

Soon, Justin also picked up on the issues and asked Eleanora about it. He soon revealed that Taylor went to Jade's listing and this made Eleanora shocked. She had no clue about it.

Justin revealed that earlier at lunch Jade was trying to dismiss Eleanora's achievements by claiming that she does not have a proof for any of them. To this, Eleanora simply replied that she does not have to prove anything because all of her deals are listed.

Selling the City Episode 3 - At the office

Soon, we see that Taylor and Abi are at the Douglas Elliman office where Eleanora comes in with a tense energy. She calls Taylor into her office and explains to her how it feels to have her team member go to Jade and seek advice.

She wanted Taylor to not have to lie about it because she and Jade go way back and have a "complicated work relationship."

Soon this turns into a workplace argument on Selling the City because Eleanora was trying to tell Taylor to not lie to her ever but Taylor does not think it was a lie but more like how she "mishandled" the situation. Eleanora wants her team to be completely open and communicative to her.
