Selling the City was released on Netflix on January 3, 2025. Viewers saw a visible rift between Jade and Abigail and it started from day 1 of the show. Selling the City is a spinoff of Selling Sunsets and is set in New York City.
We see the top real estate agents working at Douglas Elliman and out of them, the main focus is on Eleanora, who has got a team of four women to reach even higher goals at the firm.
In the first episode, when Jade came to visit Eleanora in her office, we saw her talking about the entire team from her perspective but had particularly negative remarks for Abigail.
Selling the City - Jade's remarks about Abigail
In Selling the City episode 1, Jade talked about how Abigail has a long way to go in her career and development. She also thought Taylor was the best among all four of them.
The conversation started when Eleanora talked to Abigail about her listings and she told her she used to "poach" those properties. However, Eleanora tells Jade that it is something that they do not do and she needs to be careful about the same. She said,
"...which we don't really do because it's unethical. We really don't do that because we are all part of the Real Estate Board of New York, and we don't actually solicit other people's business."
This prompted a reaction from Jade who talked to the cameras later saying,
"I would never have Abi near any of my multi-million dollar buyers... Eleanora's her boss. She can handle it how she wants to handle it."
Talking about her point of view, Abi explained,
"I've been in real estate for almost four years now. And I've been at this company for a couple of months. It's this whole new world that I've been opened up to. But I definitely feel a bit like a fish out of water."
Jade then continued to describe Giselle, but soon returned to talking about Abi and said,
"Abi is just so..thirsty. She needs the most help out of everybody."
Later in the episode, Abigail was not invited over for lunch by Jade which was attended by everybody except Giselle, Jordyn, and herself. Talking about it, Abi said,
"I thought I was the only one that got booted from the lunch. I know Jade doesn't like me. Like, everyone tells me that she says things about me."
Selling the City - Jade and Abigail's Faceoff
Coming to the Selling the City finale, Jade and Abigail truly had a major faceoff. It started when Abigail expressed her feelings about how Jade threw Taylor "under the bus" when she took her to one of her listings without telling Eleanora.
She continued to express how she is a team player anyone who interferes with hers, needs to confront her. Abigail tried to pull Jade out for a personal talk but she kept denying it.
Jade starts to go home when Abigail pushes her to speak up and she turns to Eleanora asking her to handle it and put a stop to it. But, Abigail pushed her and Jade finally confronted her by saying,
"You do look old. You do look old."
Abigail replies by saying,
"I'm so sorry that you feel like you have to tear another woman down... All I know is you looked me in the eye and said, 'Iam hanging out with Taylor this week. I'm putting my trust in you not to tell Eleanora this. I don't want her up my *ss.' Did you say that or not."
This triggered Jade who lashed out on Netflix claiming that she might sue. The season ended on this sour note and fans are curious about what happened next.
Selling the City is available to stream on Netflix right now.
