Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary shared a flashback from the show where a polishing product was pitched to the sharks. This made Kevin excited, and he shared a little personal story about a secret society that he is a part of.
Kevin is famous for quoting anecdotes from his life from time to time on Shark Tank, and this time, it was for Chevaliers Du Tastevin. Shark Tank's Kevin explains that they have a tastevin made of pure silver, which has to be polished clean or you are thrown out of the gathering.
Talking about the same, Kevin explained,
"I'm a member of the group called Chevaliers Du Tastevin. It's a secret society of Burgundy drinkers. Every 90 days, somewhere in the world we gather and we drink wines as old as 1902. But you can't do unless you're wearing the Tastevin, which is a tasting cup made of pure silver."
He then explains the rules of the society and what the members have to comply with to get in. He says,
"If the cup is dirty, you're rejected from the meeting no matter where it's held. Could be Paris, could be Rome. You can't get in. I keep telling my wife you got to polish my Tastevin and she says polish your own Tastevin. I actually think I could polish my Tastevin with this."

In another video on his YouTube channel, Shark Tank's Kevin had shown viewers his Tastevin and explained how it needed to be cleaned. They use this bowl-like container to drink wine over 100 years old. He used Goddard silver polish for the Tastevin, which he had to hang around his neck. He explains,
"I have to polish my Tastevin before I take it tonight to the quarterly Tastevin dinner. This is a secret society of wine snobs. They only drink the best Burgundy wines ever made on Earth."
Talking about why he has to do the polishing before the meeting, Shark Tank's Kevin says,
"Now the reason I have to do this is it would be an absolute insult to bring my Tastevin, which I wear around my neck, with any tarnish on it. I would be thrown on the street, first of all, you can't even get in if you don't bring it, that's one issue."
He continued,
"But to have any kind of tint, any kind of a little blemish is a huge mistake. And of course I do this by hand myself. The famous Tastevin, the secret society of wine drinkers does not allow a blemish on the Tastevin."
After completing the polish on his silver Tastevin, Shark Tank's Kevin exclaimed,
"Look at that! Looks so terrific. So here's what happens when you wear this. Put it on you. Walk in. You drink 20 bottles of Burgundy. Absolutely spectacular! See you there!"
This video on YouTube was posted 12 years ago, and later in the Shark Tank episode, we saw him reveal about the society. The official website for the society called Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, bio reads,
"Wines of a quality such as ours are a cause for joy and optimism. So enough moaning! Since our cellars are full to the brim, let's empty them - and we can invite our friends to help us! We'll revive the old Bacchic confraternities and ward off the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune with liberal doses of Rabelaisian exuberance and Molière's comic good-sense."
Shark Tank airs weekly on Fridays on ABC at 8 PM ET.
