Prime Video’s Secret Level is an animated adaptation of 15 massively popular video games. Each episode of the series focuses on a different game, bringing a fresh twist to its story while keeping its essence.
The 10th episode of the show is based on Mega Man, the popular sci-fi action game that has been around since 1987. It delves into the titular character's origin story as he tries to defeat Dr. Wily’s robots.
As the scientist wants to take over the world with his robotic minions, Mega Man, originally known as Rock, supports Dr. Light in his fight against evil. Secret Level episode 10, titled Mega Man: Start, ends with an epic showdown while Rock prepares for his next mission.
What happens as Mega Man fights Dr. Wily's minions in Secret Level?
In Secret Level episode 10, chaos erupts in Mega City as Dr. Wily uses his mini-bots to take over the programming of Dr. Light’s robots. Wily wants to turn everyone against Light by making it look like the latter is behind all the destruction.
To stop the chaos, Light sends Bomb Man, one of his strongest robots, into the fight. However, Rock, one of Light’s android creations, wants to go into the battle. Light refuses, as he sees Rock as a son and does not want to endanger him.
Things take a turn for the worse when one of Wily’s mini-bots sneaks into the lab and takes control of Bomb Man, turning him into a weapon against Light and Rock. With no other option, Rock steps in to fight Bomb Man. Rock not only defeats the hijacked robot but also the mini-bot.
Meanwhile, he resists the mini-bot’s attempt to take control of him. With the victory, Light realizes he has been holding Rock back. He gives Rock the iconic Mega Man suit. In the end, Rock, now Mega Man, heads out to save the city.
What does Dr. Wily want in Secret Level?
Dr. Wily wants to take over the world in Secret Level episode 10. He plans to do so by controlling Dr. Light’s robots. Wily is a mad scientist who once worked with Light. However, he now uses evil mini-bots to mess with the other robots’ programming and turn them into tools for destruction.
Wily has a long-standing rivalry with Light, as per the video game lore. The two used to be allies but disagreed on how the robots should be used. Wily wanted to make robots more powerful with the Double Gear system, but Light was against it as he feared it could be dangerous.
Light believed that robots should think for themselves and help humans. In contrast, Wily thought robots should only be used as tools to serve people—the two parted ways due to differences of opinion, eventually leading to their rivalry.
In the show, Wily does not show up to fight Mega Man directly but sends his mini-bots to cause malfunctioning in Light’s robots. However, Rock shows up at the right time and stops him.
What is next for Mega Man?
Secret Level episode 10 ends with Rock wearing the Mega Man suit given by Dr. Light and getting ready for his next mission. He will now have to face the other robots, which are still under Dr. Wily’s control. In the Mega Man game series, these include Cut Man, Elec Man, Fire Man, Guts Man, Ice Man, and Bomb Man.
