The show SEAL Team has now been cancelled, and season 7 was the last season to air. The actor who played Jason on the show, David Boreanaz, said:

"I had expressed my interest not to do the show anymore. I was finished regardless of whether they wanted to do two more seasons, one more season. I was done. So then the writers' strike hit, and it became six months later, and that had already been decided."

Even if SEAL Team had not ended after season 4, a crucial character would have left the show.
