Actress Peyton List along with other cast members of School Spirits have returned in Season 2 of the show. The supernatural teen drama dropped its first season in 2023, with Peyton in the lead role of teenager Maddie Nears. So, to find out the truth, Maddie Nears sets out on a journey to discover how she died, and whether foul play was involved. As her investigation begins, Maddie is accompanied by her fellow spirits and she uncovers mysteries surrounding her past, and the hidden dark secrets about the high school.

While Maddie Nears is the central character in School Spirits, the drama is incomplete without the other spirirts: Mr. Martin (Josh Zuckerman), Rhonda (Sarah Yarkin), Wally (Milo Manheim), Charley (Nick Pugliese), and — how can we not mention — Janet (Jess Gabor). Except for Janet, these ghosts facilitate daily therapy sessions for members.

However, Maddie is reluctant to accept her death, and wants to find out if she really died. If not, she wants to know why is with the spirits. Now that Maddie has become a ghost, nobody can see her excpet her best friend Simon.

He joins Maddie in her investgation, and they try to piece things together. Since blood stains were found at the school, many thought Maddie might have been killed.

Shockingly, her estranged mother Sandra, her boyfriend Xavier, and Derek, a teacher with a secret life of drug dealing, become the prime suspects in the case. Did any one of them kill Maddie Nears? The audience is curious to know.

School Spirits Season 2 revealed that Maddie isn’t actually dead. Instead, her body has been taken over by one of the ghosts, Janet, at the high school. She has been pretending to be Maddie, and living her life.

Now in Season 2, Maddie is determined to take her identity back from Janet, and find out the reason behind the latter's actions. The first three episodes have finally come out, which also revealed that each ghost has a death object that likely takes them back to the time when they were about to die.
