Paramount+'s supernatural teen drama, School Spirits, will be in session soon, and many more faces will be haunting the corridors on January 30, 2025.
School Spirits debuted in March 2023 and followed the story of Maddie, who is stuck in the afterlife, investigating the reason for her death. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, where it was revealed that Maddie was not dead, but her body had been possessed by another girl, Janet.
The audience will finally get to meet Janet in the new season, and the mystery surrounding Maddie's life will get even more interesting.
As per Paramount+, the official synopsis for Season 2 reads as follows:
“Picking up from the shocking season one finale, Maddie Nears is still stuck in the afterlife, but now with the knowledge of what happened to her. She must unite her friends in the spectral and living worlds in order to reclaim her stolen life.”
Who are the new cast additions in School Spirits Season 2?
TVLine has confirmed four new cast members will join School Spirits Season 2. They are as follows:
Jess Gabor as Janet Hamilton: An actor and producer, Gabor is best known for her work in Criminal Minds and Shameless. She will join the School Spirits Season 2 cast as Janet, a 1950's ghost who will hijack Maddie's body. She was mentioned throughout Season 1, but fans will finally see her in the new season.
Zack Calderon as Diego Herrera: An actor from Folsom, CA, Calderon's work credits include The Afterparty and The Wilds. He will play Diego, a college student in his early twenties.
Ci Hang Ma as Quinn: A Chinese-American actress, they are best known for their work in Star Wars: Strange New Worlds and Odd Squad. Ma joined the cast of School Spirits as Quinn, the ghost of a marching band member who died in a bus crash.
Miles Elliot as Yuri: Miles is best known for his work in The Amazing Spider-Man and Camp. He will play the character of Yuri, a ghost from the 70's who will form a connection with Charley.
Who are the returning cast members in School Spirits Season 2?
Almost all the characters from Season 1 will reprise their respective roles for School Spirits Season 2:
Peyton List (27 Dresses, Diary of a Wimpy Kid): She will reprise the titular role of Maddie Nears, a teen who is watching her disappearance unfold from the afterlife, surrounded by the spirits of others who have died. She tries to find out what happened to her throughout Season 1 until she finds out that she is not dead, but her body is possessed by another girl, Janet.
Kristian Ventura: He will also return as Simon Elroy, Maddie's best friend and the only person who can communicate with her.
Milo Manheim: He will return as Wally Clark, a popular football player from the 80s, who became a ghost in the afterlife at Split River High School.
Spencer MacPherson: Xavier Baxter will also return as Maddie's boyfriend, who was cheating on her with Claire.
Kiara Pichardo: She will also reprise her role as Nicole Herrera, Maddie's friend, who was committed to finding out what happened to her in Season 1.
In addition, Sarah Yarkin as Rhonda, Rainbow Wedell as Claire, Josh Zuckerman as Mr. Martin, and Nick Pugliese as Charley will also reprise their respective roles in Season 2.
