The New York Police Department recently arrested a man who was threatening to bomb Saturday Night Live. In a weird twist of events, this arrested individual has the same name as the one who was stalking actress Scarlett Johansson.
This man had sent messages to Connecticut College about bombing the SNL Studios in New York. However, the administration immediately called the police to regain control over the situation.
His name is Michael Branham, and he is now in the custody of the NYPD. The threatening fiasco happened on Tuesday as the police took charge of him.
After his arrest, Branham was put through the legal system, where the court decided his fate. He was thus charged with one count of falsely reporting an incident and the other of making a threat of mass harm. Even though Michael pleaded not guilty in front of the judge, his bail to freedom is set at $100,000.
The most unusual detail about this entire thing is how his name is the same as the person against whom Scarlett Johansson had applied for a restraining order. The other Branham was accused of stalking, but a judge in California denied the request for the restraining order. It was based on a technicality.
Saturday Night Live Weekend Update host Colin Jost and MCU actress Scarlett Johansson's relationship explored
Scarlett Johansson is currently married to the Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Host Colin Jost. The two share a very sweet, romantic story. They met when he was still working in the writer's room at SNL, and she hosted an episode.
It was 2006, and the two had not thought of dating each other yet. It was in 2017 that the pair were seen together, and relationship rumors were sparked.
Talking about her marriage to Saturday Night Live's Colin on a Goop podcast, the Black Widow actress said,
"I didn't know what I wanted or needed from somebody else. I think identifying those things was a game-changer for me."
She has been married twice before meeting Colin. Her first marriage was with Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, which ran short before the two decided to divorce. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she said,
"I mean, the first time I got married, I was 23 years old. I didn't really have an understanding of marriage. Maybe I kind of romanticized it, I think, in a way."
The second one was with Romain Dauriac, a French citizen. The couple shares a daughter named Rose. However, the two also ended their marriage shortly after, even though it was revealed to the press that Romain was against the divorce and wanted to reconcile with Scarlett.
It was in 2020 that Saturday Night Live's Colin and Scarlett, after dating for three years, decided to tie the knot. They welcomed their son, named Cosmo, in 2021.
Saturday Night Live airs on NBC, and the latest episodes are all available to stream online on Peacock.
