On October 13, 2024, Saturday Night Live aired with a star-studded lineup, featuring Wicked star Ariana Grande as host and musical icon Stevie Nicks as guest performer. This performance was Ariana Grande's third turn as host.

Despite a delayed start due to extra coverage of a football match, the show remained entertaining, from the sketches to the musical numbers.

Grande hosted last year and showed off her vocal talents during the monologue, making jokes at the likes of Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani while humorously claiming she wouldn't sing on the show.

Ariana Grande talked about her return to Saturday Night Live:

“The last time I hosted was in 2016, and we were right on the verge of electing our first female president,” additionally she said “So, I guess, second time’s the charm?”

Ariana Grande hosted Saturday Night Live in Studio 8H this week. The program featured hilarious impressions of some of the world's most famous singers including Britney Spears, Celine Dion, and Miley Cyrus, as performed by Bowen Yang in the costume of her Wicked character.

Additionally, Grande talked a lot about Glinda's role, which she is very excited to share with viewers. Although Grande is known for her great singing skills, she said that she did not plan to sing, saying that she wanted to make the show fun and "low-key".

Ariana Grande shared the stage with another SNL performer, Stevie Nicks, who returned to the stage as a musical performer forty years after her last appearance.

On 12 October, Stevie Nicks appeared on Saturday Night Live as a guest, hosted by Ariana Grande, to sing some of her most popular songs. She opened with a new song, The Lighthouse, from her forthcoming self-titled 2024 album. She then sang her 1981 hit Edge of Seventeen.

Stevie had to deal with a technical problem during the second half of her performance. Although this was quickly rectified, the technical glitch caused her portrait to appear on the screen for a few moments, followed by some advertising.

However, the Rhiannon singer remained calm and gave an incredible performance, cheered on by the audience.

Stevie was dressed all in black for her performance, wearing a black velvet jacket, skirt, and boots. This was her second appearance on SNL since her last one in 1983.

Saturday Night Live's new episodes are available to stream on NBC.
