Beast Games episode 8 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 30, 2025. It brought a conclusion to the trolley problem that we saw in episode 7. Soon after, only 10 contestants remained on the show and were brought back to Beast City. They each now were provided with their own houses.

The group was asked to vote for a captain whom they trusted because it would be an important decision. The group voted for Twana who got house number 1. She would have to pick the resident of house number 2 and they would so on, choose the resident of the next house to them.

Ultimately, the big black box which was placed in the middle of the city, was revealed to be full of a million dollars. The one who had the first house would have the first choice to choose however much cash they wanted. Twana picked $100,000 so that all the 10 members could divide the sum equally within themselves.

However, JC decided to take away $650,000 from the pool. This left only a small amount for the rest of the contestants to take away from. Causing an uproar on social media, Beast Games fans were disappointed in JC's decision.

They have always felt as if he had advocated for kindness but when he was put on the soot, decided to opt for greediness. Writing on Reddit, a user by the name u/Forward-Scientist-77 wrote,

"Yep, he fits the type. A sanctimonious rat. Then tries to manipulate others by turning on his alliance, instead of owning his decision like a man."

Beast Games fans react to JC trying to manipulate the contestants

Beast Games fans were quick to compare JC's behavior to Deano's and how it is not any different other than the exterior. Fans say that Deano was indeed selfish, but he owned it.

However, Beast Games fans claim that JC is the same but tries to convince everyone that he's "not a bad person." Labeling his behavior as "hypocrisy," a Reddit user by the name u/Frostyicelad said,

"I think the reason people dislike him is, even though Deano and him were both selfish, Deano was calculated and did the logical thing to try and stay in the game, at which point it was his only option. 566 however decided to take all the money and then backtrack and say he's not a bad person."

Continuing, they said,

"Sure they both played the game, but 566 whining and bitching is more a reaction and not a decision like he's not a bad guy for what he did but when he was being self-righteous with Deano in the previous episode it just shows his ridiculousness."

Discussing why Player 566, aka JC, deserves the hate he is getting on social media, the user explained,

"566 deserves the hate because of the ridiculous amount of hypocrisy, backtracking and overall just the whiny "trust me I'm a good guy" act. I think most people agree it's fine if he took the money and owned up to it, but he went too far down the other end and pretended to be a victim which, well he was not lol."

In another post about JC's behavior on the Beast Games subreddit, fans said that the other contestants truly deserved what JC did to them. It was because they were too trusting of him and were bashing Deano for picking Jazmine on the tracks with him.

A user u/TitusWu said,

"I remember in the train episode virtually all of them bashed on Deano and took 566's side. They even cried when 566 was selected to be on the track. I was disgusted. How could I be the only one who was turned off by 566 acting all morally superior?"

Beast Games is available to stream online via Amazon Prime Video.
