S.W.A.T. Season 8 Episode 10, "The Heights," offered viewers a dive into both the personal and professional struggles of the key characters. The episode kicks off with Mike and Nicole's (Deacon’s sister-in-law) secret affair. The two have been dating but didn't open up about their relationship with Deacon.
However, things took an unexpected turn when Mike mistakenly left his badge at Beacon's house. Before he could get it back, Mike was called for work, and he left without his badge.
The S.W.A.T. team is handling a high-stakes hostage situation in Episode 10, where criminals fired at officers and ran away. One of them tried to escape inside a police car and even took a woman.
Little did he know that the woman was also a hostage who later used a can of mace on the suspect. Her actions led the team to step in, rescue her, and take down the criminal.
The officers learned that the criminals were after a huge drug shipment worth $24 million in cocaine, which had been lost. It belongs to a cartel named Los Altos, who is looking for the missing drug.
It's revealed that the cartel shipped the drug inside a famous pop star’s equipment, and the singer has no idea about the crime. The cartel then stormed the singer's rehearsal, firing shots and searching for the missing drug.
However, they couldn't find it as it had already been taken by a backstage singer, Lola Fay, who decided to use the drug to launch her solo music career. Lola's plan failed when she went to the concert instead of escaping or reporting to the police.
As expected, Los Alton arrived at the venue, and so did the SWAT team. Meanwhile, Mike confessed to Deacon about his relationship with Nicole, which he had already found out about through his lost badge.
As the episode nears its end, the team takes down the cartel and closes the case. As for Hondo, his cousin Andre returned to town after running away from a loan shark. The borrower still managed to track Andre and even threatened his family.
To settle the chaos, Hondo had to pay off the debt for Andre, who again ran off without clearing things between him and Hondo. While Hondo ensures his family's safety, his relationship with Andre is again left unsettled.
