Anticipation for Bad Monkey Season 2 is high as fans wonder what's next for Andrew Yancy after season one ended with a cliffhanger. How does Rogelio's offer to Yancy hint at Bad Monkey Season 2?
While Yancy and Neville are trying to capture Eve, she gives Nick false hope as he is limited to a wheelchair. After continuous challenges, Yancy finally catches Eve near the bank, but the police arrive at the wrong time, ruining Yancy's plan to capture Nick and Eve.
In the finale, Eve only focused on eliminating Nick. She found Nick slowing down her escape plan after being paralyzed. Since she has always been the most greedy and ruthless character of Bad Monkey, Eve killed Nick by pushing him into the water.
Before his death, Nick wanted to express his concerns for her daughter and thought Eve would do the job. Instead, we see Yancy conveying the message to Caitlin, Nick's daughter.
Yancy had decided never to give up and get back to his old job. He tried hard to stop Eve from escaping and jumped into the water while holding on to the rope, hoping he might succeed. Eve managed to escape and reached Portugal. However, Gracie's curse followed her, and Eve died by choking.
Yancy was sad and returned to Keys. At the finale's end, he tells Rogelio that he'll become as adaptive as a Key West deer. After hearing about his new plan to change and start over, Rogelio asked Yancy if he would like to see what's inside his car's trunk.
And guess what? It's where Bad Monkey Season 1 ended. Fans didn't get to see what Ro had inside the trunk, but it was something Yancy wouldn't deny. Now that Andrew Yancy has realized his mistake and Ro's got something for him, a fresh narrative can be explored in Bad Monkey season 2.
What will be the plot of Bad Monkey Season 2?
During an interview with Deadline, the executive producer of Bad Monkey, Bill Lawrence, talked about adapting the next book for season 2. The first question was about Ro's question in the finale, which has fans wondering if it will connect to the next chapter.
The executive producer didn't reveal what was inside the trunk but mentioned that the opening credits had a clue. Interestingly, the clue is a book titled Razor Girl, which is Carl Hiaasen's second book after he wrote Bad Monkey.
Lawrence was later asked if Bad Monkey Season 2 will follow Razor Girl, to which he replied:
"Yes, it will be based on Razor Girl. And I’m super hopeful that we will start working on it very soon."
Bill Lawrence has confirmed that fans will get Bad Monkey Season 2, and it will be adapted from the second novel. The executive producer even explained that they could expand on Yancy's story beyond the books. Similar to how White Lotus welcomes new characters in every new season.
