Rhythm + Flow Season 2 Episode 7: Judges deliberate over who to choose after listening to four artists
The new episodes 5 to 7 of Rhythm + Flow Season 2 were released on Netflix this Wednesday, and fans witnessed an array of intense showdowns, eliminations, and original single songs from the artists. Episode 7 of Rhythm + Flow witnessed four performances where artists got the chance to make an authentic song from scratch with the help of famous producers who have worked with great artists like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, GloRilla, and many more.
Jax was the first artist to perform and she collaborated with Fierce, who is a multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated producer. Jax wanted to come off as authentic as possible and reflect on her journey through the performance. Her original song was named Dox Mrtns, and she compressed all four judges with her lyrics and energy.
Rhythm + Flow judge Ludacris called Jax's performance "unapologetic", while DJ Khaled called her song "dope", and he also mentioned that her "song felt real original and authentic".
The next artist was Tia P. She collaborated with Nostradamus and wanted to create "nothing too hard but not R&B soft". Her song was called West and she wanted to bring the spotlight to her birthplace as her first performance happened there. Tia P made the guest judge, GloRilla follow her tune to the end while other judges appreciated her "flow" and her evolution as an artist.
The third performance of the episode was by Sura Ali who wanted to incorporate her poetry flare along with some "beat drops" into her song as poetry has been an outlet for her since the beginning. She collaborated with Hendri Smoke, and her song was named R+N+F.
Latto appreciated Sura's different demeanor and her authenticity. Ludacris told Sura that she captivated everyone and brought them on board with her performance.
The last performance was by Jay Taj. He collaborated with Streetrunner and wanted to portray "duality" through his song. But he decided to tell a story from his song and made his father the center. Judges loved Jay's performance and Latto called him a "polished" artist. DJ Khaled went ahead to say that his song could have been a soundtrack in a movie.
As all the performances wrapped up, the judges deliberated on each one of them, discussing their high and low points. All the artists soon joined the stage, and the judges mentioned that it was time to send two artists home. However, the episode ended on a cliffhanger, and the eliminated artists will be revealed in the next episode.
Rhythm + Flow Season 2 will air the next batch of episodes on December 4 on Netflix.
