Netflix aired Rhythm + Flow Season 2 Episode 5 on November 27, 2024. The latest episode was part of the latest segment release, which contains three episodes.

The popular music competition features renowned hip-hop stars, including Ludacris, DJ Khaled, and Latto. In the second season's fifth episode, contestants witnessed Eminem's guest appearance, along with a few more celebrity judges.

The segment featured battles against 14 contestants, 7 of whom would advance while the rest would be sent home. The fifth episode ended before the final battle between Detroit Diamond and Dono's result could be revealed.


What happened on Rhythm + Flow Season 2 Episode 5? Recap explored

The Rhythm + Flow Season 2 Episode 5 featured legendary rapper Eminem. As soon as the contestants saw the rapper, they were excited to meet him.

One of the competitors of Rhythm + Flow, Yoshi Vintage, told the cameras,

"I don't know what to say about this man. He's literally Eminem. Eminem is your favorite rapper's favorite rapper."

Legendary rapper welcomed the fellow contestants to Detroit and revealed that they would be battling against him. He then confessed how "The Shelter" has been his battleground since his early days.

"The scene in 8 Mile, the battle scene, was The Shelter downstairs in the basement. I've been here so many times that it's kind of like a second home to me," he confessed.

Artists featured on Rhythm + Flow's fifth episode were nervous before their battle facing the legendary rapper Eminem.

DJ Mo Beatz was the in-house DJ for the battle night who welcomed the host, Smack. Soon, he invited Latto, one of the judges, followed by celebrity judges Mr. Porter, Royce Da 5'9", and Eminem to attend the battle.

The host, Smack, shared,

"I got 14 contestants backstage, ready to battle each other. They're about to come out. Seven people are going to move on, seven are gonna go home. $250,000 is on the line. Let's get it."

The first battle was between Jay Taj and RHOME, which Jay won and moved to the next round. Next up was DreTL and K'Alley, which DreTL won. As a result, K'Alley went home with a heavy heart.

Bunduke battled against Yoshi Vintage. After winning the toss, she went first and won the battle.

"We decided on Yoshi. Where she had the advantage was it was more calculated. She came so prepared to just chop you down, and a lot of times when you're freestyling, you're searching for the words to make the s*** rhyme. Sometimes it ain't gonna hit the same, but I definitely respect the f*** out of you for being able to do that," shared Eminem.

The next battle on Rhythm + Flow was Tia P battling against Honie Gold, which Tia P won. After that, next up was LG against Jaxs, where LG forgot a few words, after which Jaxs also slipped with a few words.

However, when the judges mentioned this, they rapped without music, and both were impressive. Judges couldn't decide whom to choose at first. They chose to move forward with Jaxs while LG went home.

The next battle was between Sura Ali and SeeFour. While Sura Ali's performance got quite a cheer from the crowd, SeeFour's performance was also amazing. However, with better punchlines and stronger comebacks, Sura Ali won the battle.

"So. We gotta give it to Sura. But also, SeeFour, bro, you're f****** nice. So, like I said, you got all the tools in your toolkit, man. Just keep doing that s***," shared Eminem.

The last battle of the fifth episode was between Detroit Diamond and Dono. Judges, as well as the crowd, cheered for both of the performances. As a result, Eminem shared the tough decision,

"I've never had a battle that was this close in my life…"

The fifth episode ended with a cliffhanger before Eminem revealed the contestant who won the battle.
