Rhythm + Flow Brazil debuted on Netflix on November 12, with 18 explosive rap artists and 3 coveted judges guiding them during their journey on the show. The Brazilian version will feature Djonga, Tasha and Tracie, and Filipe Ret as the judges who will bring their expertise and unique style to the show.
The show has released its first 4 episodes in one go during the premiere and the rest of the 2 episodes will air on November 19. The format of the show will pit the 18 contestants in an intense rap battle to gain their spot and advance to the next round of the show.
As the episodes progress, the one to come on top and nail each battle with their performance, lyrics, and stage presence will become the "next big rap star" to take away $500,000 with a ticket to feature in Netflix's show, Sintonia.
In Episode 1, all three judges head to their hometowns to find hidden gems from the rap scene and let them to shine. The official synopsis of Rhythm + Flow Brazil Episode 1 reads,
"Django, Filipe Ret, Tracia and Tasha visit their hometowns to find the next big thing in rap and select their first pick for the competition."
Rhythm + Flow Brazil judges visit Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, and São Paulo to hunt new artists
The Episode premiere of Rhythm + Flow Brazil brought back sweet memories for the judges, Django, Filipe, Tracie, and Tasha as they visited their hometowns Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo with high expectations to find rap artists for the battleground who would explode the show with their energy.
Filipe Ret a Rio de Janeiro native was hit by numerous memories as he visited his hometown to make his pick for the competition. He was accompanied by Marcelo D2 to evaluate the performances.
Cold Jas and Afrodite BXD join the two rap legends to compete in the first battle of Rhythm + Flow Brazil.
Marcelo and Filip both found Afrodite BXD more confident and sharp and picked her as the winner.
For the second duel, Jump and Guiu took their chances to impress Marcelo and Filipe. However, both of them stumbled. Marcelo opined that he would have chosen no one but left the decision to Filipe. Filipe decided to advance Guiu because "his first couple of lines got his attention".
Rhythm + Flow Brazil judge Django visited his hometown Belo Horizonte and met his "number one guy" FBC to evaluate rap artists Novak, Cafiero, and OG Capitu. Cafiero and Novak battled it out to gain a spot, which Novak won. OG Capitu too impressed judges with her voice and composition.
The hip-hop sister duo, Tasha and Tracie routed back to São Paulo and were joined by the guest judge Karol Conká, who shared that she was "excited and curious" to listen to the rap artists.
The rap legends chose three artists from numerous rappers whom they found equally talented. However, they decided to pick Ras, Maria Preta, and Gabrelu for their uniqueness and voice.
Before episode 1 of Rhythm + Flow Brazil ended, the cameras shifted back to Rio de Janeiro to Filipe who was joined by judges Maru and Dallas to decide one last time between Muxima and Muse Maya. Muxima did not complete the lyrics, which led the judges to go with Muse Maya as the winner.
