Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary shared an Instagram clip on February 27, 2025, discussing the "Power of social media in elections." The discussion was about how Donald Trump used social media and became the "champion" of the working man.
Kevin O'Leary recalled meeting various individuals during fundraisers. He shared:
"So I've met a lot of the fundraisers in the last few weeks with the Democratic Party, and they are doing a complete reset in terms of their messaging to their base. What they can't understand is how Trump, and he used social media to do this more than linear television."
The Shark Tank investor added:
"He was very masterful at doing interviews with people like you, Pierce, and then taking 15, 38, 49 seconds, 59 seconds snippets of it and reposting it on every single social media program, enhanced. And what he did, and the one that they're most concerned about during that last four months of the election, was steal the working man from the Democratic Party."
Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary in discussion with Piers Morgan and others
Kevin O'Leary recently shared an Instagram reel, part of his appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored. He discussed how recently elected U.S. President Donald Trump and his team used social media during the elections.
Witnessing how he became the "champion" among unions and working individuals over the East and West Coast surprised the Democratic party. Since then, Shark Tank mentor stated:
"The Democratic Party is doing a complete reset in terms of their messaging to their base. What they can't understand is how Trump did it and what he did was steal the working man from the Democratic Party. How is it possible that Donald Trump became the champion of the working man and unions across the East Coast and West Coast? How did he reach them?"
He referred to it as the event that "Trump pulled off" and how it caused a lot of "soul searching" among Democrats.
The Shark also presented a few obvious yet essential questions related to how Republicans pulled off the win in the election. It included:
- How did he do that?
- How did he reach them?
- What about Michigan?
- The Michigan example is being studied by the Democrats right now.
- How did he do that?
Kevin O'Leary also stated that Trump's "mastery" of social media "pulled off" their latest election win. He shared more on the subject and said he had to be "bipartisan." The reason behind that was that he also invested in the states that were "blue."
The Shark Tank mentor stated that he often spoke at various conventions. However, he mentioned that he had no choice, as entrepreneurship is "bipartisan."
