Dave Adams exited The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 quite early with his girlfriend Vanessa Hattaway. Recently he has shed light on why the two decided to make such a move.

They came on the show expecting to leave with their bond stronger than ever, but bigger forces were at play here. The couple decided to leave on The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 Episode 4.

While talking about their exit to People, Dave finally revealed its reason. The catalyst was Nick Tramontin. He was paired with Vanessa for a trial marriage but things turned out different than it seemed for the couple.

Talking about the same, Dave said,

"I will say that there was a lot of untruths that Nick provided to get on the show through psych evaluations that he just wasn't truthful about."

He continued,

"Vanessa found out a lot of information upon day one of moving in together, and that just immediately threw up more than a red flag, it was like a red flag on fire that we really needed to think about what's the best thing for our safety."

Dave talked about how Vanessa and Nick connected because of their years of shared experience as home-schooled kids. Vanessa was looking forward to their bond due to this factor but later it was revealed that Nick was only homeschooled for 3 months.

Dave says that "there's just a lot of manipulation" when Nick is trying to convince Vanessa to move in with him. He says everything was "highly exaggerated to form a connection."

Talking about the same experience, Dave said that he was concerned for Vanessa during her trial run with Nick. He said,

"This is actually really emotionally, mentally, and potentially physically dangerous. We really need to make a decision here."

While these claims were made by Dave, Nick too got a chance to express his feelings. In a statement to People, Nick states that he is surprised that this is what Vanessa experienced during their time together on the show.

Nick says that even after filming ended, the two kept in touch and often texted with each other. He says this gave him the impression that there must be no "unresolved tension between us."

He says that these claims have "blindsided" him due to their negative nature because, in his mind, he was "optimistic about sharing our experiences."

Concluding, Nick just wished Dave and Vanessa well for their future together. He also passed a remark saying,

"I also hope they’ll choose compassion over attacking the character of someone they only spent two intense, emotional days with."

About Vanessa and Dave on The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On

Vanessa is 30 while Dave is 34 and she issued him an ultimatum. Soon they met with their potential trial-run partners. Vanessa was paired with Nick while Dave was with Chanel.

Vanessa came to The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On being sure about her future. She wants to get married. However, Dave is more pragmatic and talks about how he needs time to make his decisions about the future.

In the show's trailer, Vanessa expressed,

“I want someone to make me feel like I am their dream woman — the person that they’re choosing to start their life with.”

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 is available to watch on Netflix right now. Episodes 9 and 10 are released on December 18, 2024. Nick, while talking about his point of view, has also mentioned a reunion. Thus, after the show concludes, we may get a closer look at what went down with the couples.
