Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars Jen and Sharrieff Shah have denied accusations from Heather Gay's memoir Good Time Girl about an alleged encounter between Coach Shah and Monica Garcia.

The book, releasing December 3, claims Sharrieff Shah attempted to kiss Garcia at a gas station parking lot before her casting on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. A representative for the Shah family told PEOPLE magazine, "Coach Shah has never had or attempted to have a romantic relationship with Monica at any time."

Garcia also responded to the claims through the same magazine, stating she never shared romantic interactions with Sharrieff Shah. The situation stems from a Us Weekly released excerpt where Gay writes about Garcia pushing away from the alleged advance. Both the Shahs and Garcia mentioned Gay's writing aims to damage their families' names.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Sharrieff Shah denies Monica Garcia kiss claims made by Heather Gay

Heather Gay's writing in Good Time Girl talks about a meeting between Sharrieff Shah and Monica Garcia before she became part of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast. The memoir points to an interaction at a gas station parking space where Garcia supposedly met Coach Shah.

Heather Gay's account mentions Garcia talking about a moment when Shah moved toward her. The book states Garcia stepped back from this interaction immediately. The writing suggests Garcia had strong feelings about Shah from the start of their work relationship. Us Weekly shared these details through an early look at the upcoming book, which brings forward many previously private discussions.

The Shahs addressed these statements through their official representative, making their position clear to PEOPLE magazine.

"We categorically deny Heather Gay and Monica's statements,” their representative stated firmly.

He continued,

“Both my clients Jen and Sharrieff Shah have ignored the continuous attempts for bait by Monica and others for storyline. Jen continues to remain consistent with her journey of positive rehabilitation, and will not entertain frivolous narratives from those seeking a rise from her or her family.”

Their message stressed Coach Shah maintained strict work boundaries with Monica throughout their association.

"Coach Shah has never tried to form any personal connection with Monica at any time," the representative added.

The Shahs mentioned through their spokesperson that certain individuals keep trying to create material for television using their family name. Their message highlighted Jen's dedication to her current legal obligations rather than focusing on show matters.

Monica Garcia’s statement

Former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Garcia also issued her statement to PEOPLE magazine addressing the memoir's contents directly.

"It’s truly sad and worrisome that Heather Gay has nothing else to write about than twisted and false allegations in a desperate attempt to try and tarnish the reputations of two families," Garcia stated.

Garcia stressed she maintained clear work boundaries during her time with the Shah family. Her statement emphasized she never claimed any personal connection with Coach Shah. Garcia addressed the timing of these claims, noting they appeared right before the book's release. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star’s exact words were,

“To clarify, I have never said that Sharrieff Shah and I kissed nor has there ever been anything romantic or physical between Sharrieff and I. To so carelessly write such untrue and damaging allegations in permanent ink at the expense of others for financial gain is deplorable.

She continued,

There is a reason why [former TV producer] Carlos King dubbed Heather Gay the most dangerous housewife.”

Current dynamics

The situation builds on recent changes in the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast structure. Garcia left the show after one season when other cast members found her connection to a social media account called RealityVonTease.

This account shared private videos inside Jen's house and criticized cast members. During a Watch What Happens Live filming on November 22, cast members Meredith Marks, Heather Gay, and Lisa Barlow said they would welcome Jen Shah back over Garcia.

Andy Cohen discussed Jen's possible return at Bravo Fan Fest but mentioned her current legal situation prevents immediate plans.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 continues airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on the Bravo network.
