Reacher Season 4 may not arrive anytime soon. As per TV Line, since the creative team behind Reacher’s spin-off series, Neagley, mostly consists of the same people as the original show, production for Reacher Season 4 will begin only after the spin-off, focusing on Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), is wrapped up.

Talking about the spin-off, Maria Sten told TV Line:

“It’s an interesting story, and it’s a very personal one. Neagley is its own thing, but of course it’s a ‘sister’ to Reacher, and I think it will be really, really cool to get to explore her world and see how people respond to it.”

The official synopsis of Neagley mentions that her story takes off after she comes to know of the suspicious death of a friend from her past:

“Hell-bent on pursuing justice, Neagley uses everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, setting herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.”

Reacher executive producers Nicholas Wootton and Nick Santora are behind the Neagley spin-off, too. Let us now explore in detail how long fans might have to wait for their favorite Reacher come back to the screens.

Reacher Season 4 will arrive late because of the Neagley spin-off

Production for Reacher Season 4 may not happen right away, though the spin-off, Neagley, is already under production. The show may not start before the third or fourth quarter of 2025, which means there are chances Reacher Season 4 might not release before 2026.

This is not the first time that Prime Video is making a move like this. A similar situation had occurred with The Boys and its spin-off Gen V. In the case of Neagley, starring Maria Sten, Greyston Holt, Jasper Jones, Damon Herriman, Adeline Rudolph, and Matthew Del Negro among others, the spin-off shares many creative heads with Reacher, which will delay the fourth season of the original show.

Talking about the cast, Sten told TV Line:

“We have a great cast that we’ve put together for this show.”

She added:

“[Reacher set up] that she is out there living her own life, and at the same time she will assist Reacher when it’s asked for. And even when it’s not!”

Given how Reacher has set up the Neagley spin-off storyline, it will not be surprising if Jack Reacher also makes an appearance on the show. Although nothing has been confirmed from the production house, Reacher’s cameo in the spin-off would make sense, from the story telling point-of view.

However, given the kind of magnetic presence Reacher has, it would be necessary to keep his cameos short as otherwise the whole focus would be on Reacher, which would ruin the point of having a spin-off.

The Neagley spin-off is executive-produced by Nick Santora, Lee Child, Don Granger, Wootton, Adam Higgs, David Ellison, Sam Hill, Lisa Kussner, Matt Thunell, and Dana Goldberg.

Reacher can be streamed on Prime Video.
