Reacher Season 3 Episode 6, Smoke on Water, dropped on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 3 am ET on Amazon Prime. The latest episode was filled with action and drama, from Quinn and Reacher's unexpected lukewarm meetup to Reacher finding evidence about Teresa, the missing DEA informant. However, in this high-voltage episode, viewers also witness the death of one of the security agents of Beck's gang.
Harley, played by Brendan Fletcher, was a member of Zachary Beck's gang. He was hired by Julius McCabe (formerly Xavier Quinn) to keep Teresa Daniels, the informant, locked in his boat. He was paid a grand per day to keep Teresa in custody. However, in this thrilling episode, Agent Susan Duffy and Jack Reacher were able to track Harley and blew up his boat in the rage for mistreating Teresa and keeping information.
In Reacher Season 3 episode 6, it is revealed that Quinn functioned under Russian mobs to set up his illegal dealings on the East Coast. Moreover, Quinn is in debt to the Russian mafia, who are trying to hunt him down. Reacher's cover was blown when Agent Duffy mentioned cop Villanueva to Richard Beck in a conversation. On the other hand, Neagley was back and warned Reacher of Quinn's ruthless investigations.
Quinn barges into the Beck Mansion to find out about the special investigators who are messing up his illegal dealings. Beck realized it's none other than Reacher who is involved with the DEA. Reacher rushed out of the scene through the woods to save himself from getting caught. As Reacher's cover is blown, he grows weary about Teresa's safety. Reacher knew that Teresa was alive and under the custody of Quinn, who would be using her as an escort to finalize a deal.
What happened to Harley at the end of Reacher Season 3 Episode 6?
While Beck and Quinn grew furious about Reacher's investigative dealings, Reacher and Agent Duffy met Villanueva, who dropped some hints about Teresa's whereabouts.
Villanueva traced the phone calls and stated it came from a location in 'Port Rome'. Reacher was quick to analyze that Teresa might be on the boat called Sweet Marie. He said,
"Port Rome will have boat owners. That was Harley's number. Teresa's on the Sweet Marie."
When Agent Duffy and Reacher reached the port, they used binoculars to locate an isolated boat away from the port. As their suspicion grew, they swam to the boat where they found evidence of Teresa being there previously. They found a bed, clothes, and a rope. Agent Duffy exclaimed,
"Teresa was here. He had her tied up."
Meanwhile, when Harley returned to his boat, he found water marks on the floor, which made him grow suspicious, and he took his gun out. In a violent clash, Agent Duffy slammed him against the floor. When Reacher said,
"Don't look at me. I am scared of her too."
On the other hand, a stray bullet hits a lantern, which started a fire on the boat and turned uncontrollable with some more cans of inflammables. As Harley was trying to run away, Agent Duffy punched him several times. When Harley attacked Agent Duffy, Reacher slammed an axe on Harley's foot. Unable to find any way for survival, Harley revealed that McCabe (Quinn) was paying him a grand per day to keep Teresa locked in the boat.
When they asked about Teresa's location, Harley revealed that McCabe had taken away Teresa after Reacher's cover was blown. When Reacher asked Agent Duffy about what to do next with Harley, she replied,
"I think this captain should go down with his ship."
Thus, Agent Duffy and Reacher let an injured Duffy die on his ship. As he shouted for help, the boat burst into flames.
"Don't leave me alone. F*** you Reacher. F*** you."
