Reacher, an American action crime television series on Amazon Prime Video, based on the books by Lee Child, stars Alan Ritchson as the main character. He's a tough and smart guy who used to be in the army but now travels around. On his adventures, he meets bad companions and has to fight them.
The show's first season changed the world of Western television. It premiered on February 4, 2022, with 8 episodes, and was a huge hit.
Season 2 was also a hit for Amazon, and production for season 3 soon started. It was surprising how quickly they greenlit season 3—just two weeks before season 2 was even released on Prime Video! Season 3 of the show is said to be released at some point next year, in 2025.
Updates on Prime Video's Reacher Season 3
Reacher Season 3 got renewed even before the second season premiered on Prime Video. Production on season 3 is already underway to keep the momentum going. Fans can't wait to find out what's next for Jack Reacher, the character made famous by Alan Ritchson. During an interview, Alan Ritchson said,
“I can’t say too much about season 3, but I will say there’s a lot of classic Reacher stories which are just adventures that he gets sucked into in a big way.” he added, “We get to enjoy Reacher in a new world. It may not have anything to do with family, with his past, he’s just living that adventure out, and that’s kind of the direction that we’ve gone, and it seems to really be working.”
Who can we expect to see as the cast in Reacher Season 3?
Since the show has a new story every season, most characters are new each time. Ritchson will still play Jack, and Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, will join him. Jack worked with Naegley in the military. Olier Ritchers will also be cast as Paul in season 3.

Which book is being adapted for Reacher Season 3?
Reacher Season 1 was based on Lee Child's first novel, Killing Floor, which introduced Jack in 1997. It was released on February 4, 2022. Based on the 11th book in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble, the second season was available from December 15, 2023, to January 19, 2024.
The show's creator, Nick Santora, and his team aren't following the original book series in order. Instead, they're treating each season like a separate story. The upcoming third season is based on the seventh book, called Persuader.
Series star Alan Richson finally confirmed in January 2024 that Persuader would be the source material. In the seventh Reacher book, Persuader, the hero gets recruited to take down a powerful drug lord by going undercover. Jack must rescue a DEA agent who goes undercover and runs out of time.
