Guns go ablaze at Bullhead Salvage Yard quite early into Reacher Season 3 Episode 8 and we witness an intense start to the highly-anticipated finale. Reacher and his team have been tricked by Quinn (as we saw in Episode 7) and even Zachary Beck has no idea of where the gun deal is actually taking place.

On the other hand, Neagley has almost reached Zachary's mansion while tailing the buyers. Reacher, Duffy, and Villanueva engage in a heated gun fight and make it out of the yard just in time (it was an ambush set by Quinn, who had probably sensed foul play).

The next scene shifts to Beck's house in Maine, where we get quite the taste of the much-awaited Paulie v/s Reacher face-off; once again, it is proven that strength is not everything. As the buyers float into the party and Quinn is in a rush to make it in time to the Russians, things get more intense. Reacher and his buddies find their way in and it all comes down to what we all kind of expected. Let's find out more about the Reacher Season 3 finale!

Reacher and his buddies infiltrate Beck's house (but trouble's not over)

An ambush on Reacher and his DEA associates almost costs them their lives. Quinn, who probably guessed that Zachary has ratted him out, changes the location of the deal last minute.

While Neagley makes it to Zachary's fortress, Reacher holds the ground single-handedly at Bullhead Salvage Yard (with Duffy and Villanueva's assistance). Even with the ATF coming in, they fall short in numbers but manage to make it out in one piece.

Reacher uses his presence of mind and makes one of Quinn's surviving men send a message (that would make his boss believe that things have been taken care of, which is not the case). He plans to take the trucks (that were meant to carry the weapons for the buyers) back to Beck's house.

Things go according to plan as they drive their way along the coast. Villanueva takes over as the driver for one of the vehicles, and the other one is steered by one of Quinn's men (held at gunpoint by Reacher himself). But one small mistake while parking the vehicle raises the alarm in Paulie's head.

Paulie is stronger, but Reacher is smarter

The next thing we know is Reacher killing the driver (Quinn's man) and asking the others to find a safe way inside the house while he holds the ground. Fans cannot get over his iconic line (& we all realize that the Paulie v/s Reacher moment is finally here):

"Leave him to me. I owe him."

In all three seasons of Lee Child's adaptation, this is probably the longest and most intense unarmed duel. While Neagley, Duffy, and Villanueva try to find a way to stop the deal, the Reacher-Paulie fight rages on.

This is the first time we see Reacher make a man (twice his stature) bleed so easily and it seemed like he was well-prepared for this moment. Paulie takes up a good match but also struggles at points. The duel almost ends as a draw when a portion of the garage collapses on both of them.

Paulie makes it out, but our titular hero is lying unconscious. Soon after, Paulie chains him around the neck and drags him up, leaving him hanging, choking. But once again, thanks to Reacher's smartness, he comes out of it.

The next face-off takes place close to the coast, where Reacher catches Paulie off-guard, and both of them take a fall. The highly intense underwater fight scenes make us feel like these two are superhumans, but it's what the show demands.

While it culminates, Reacher strikes a blow and we see Paulie slowly receding into the depths of the water - yes we all think it's over. But it's like he resurrects himself and comes back even stronger with the next face-off inside the securtiy room.

As the fight intensifies, we see Paulie knock off Reacher and grab his gigantic machine gun. His next words go:

"You shouldn't have f**ked with me. I'm bigger than you. I'm stronger than you."

As we see Reacher stand with his hands up to his side, Paulie fires the gun, but it surprisingly backfires and kills him. Reacher's next lines sum it up all:

"You might be bigger and stronger but I'm smarter. I pulled a bullet from the belt and plugged the barrel."

Villanueva almost dies, Neagley keeps an eye on Quinn, and Duffy goes looking for Teresa

While all this is happening, Villanueva comes across one of Quinn's men inside Beck's house and they have a heated exchange inside one of the bathrooms - but our beloved DEA agent survives the fall. Neagley, being her usual sneaky self, dresses up as a waitress and goes around the party, keeping an eye on Quinn.

Quinn gets impatient and asks his buyers to get the deal done first (as he needs the money to pay the Russians). But it seems like the Yemenis are in no rush. Agent Duffy also makes it just in time to find Teresa in one of the rooms in the east wing of Beck's house and saves her from the men who try to harm her (but she just gets the alarm going by killing them).

Zachary Beck dies trying to save his son Richard

As guns go ablaze and Quinn realizes that the situation has gone out of hand, he grabs the bag of money from the buyers and flees. He also takes Richard with him as a hostage in case anyone tries to stop him.

But Zachary Beck appears at the scene and intervenes. He points a gun at Quinn (the one his son got repaired for his birthday), but unluckily, the barrel probably did not get fixed. The moment Quinn notices, he takes up his revolver and fires multiple shots at Beck and runs away. The rug merchant dies in his son Richard's arms as he mentions that he kept his promise, saying:

"I told you. I wouldn't let them hurt you again."

Quinn's unfinished business wraps as Reacher Season 3 finale concludes

Neagley holds the ground inside Beck's house as Reacher backs her up from the outside. Duffy finds safe passage out of the tumult with Teresa, and Quinn tries to escape. However, the plot reaches a twist when Taktarov and the other Russians stop him at the main gate.

They demand to take Quinn with them to finish the 'unfinished business' but Reacher appears and stops them. Villanueva and Duffy also come in, pointing guns at the Russians.

But Neagley makes a smart move (no doubt Reacher was/is her 'boss' and the one who trained her) and arrives at the exit with the bag of cash. She asks for an exchange, saying:

"Money for him."

The very next moment we see her pull out a grenade (a fake one, obviously) to try and take control of the situation. Eventually, Taktarov agrees and leaves Quinn to them after taking the money. The final scene ends with Duffy and others going inside the house as Reacher stands face-to-face with Xavier Quinn, looks him in the eye, and shoots him dead (once and for all).

The closing scenes portray some heartwarming moments between Reacher with Duffy, Villanueva, and Neagley, of course, before he goes to live the life of a drifter again. He also has an emotional exchange with Richard and advises him to take all the cash remaining in his father's vault and grab a car and disappear (for good).

Teresa gets back to her grandmother, Mrs. Daniel, safe and sound - all thanks to Agent Duffy. The finale concludes as Reacher drives along the coast on a bike and goes on to probably seek a new adventure.
