Reacher Season 3 finale is finally here. And what a ride! We got a finale we deserved after all that build-up, all of that tension and mind games.
It surely gave us the satisfying closure we were hoping for, but not only that, it also proved one major point: when it comes to brains vs. brawn, brains always win. And honestly, it was the showdown we were all waiting for that was the best part of the finale. Reacher vs. Paulie.
Paulie had been untouchable this entire season. No one could even make him flinch. But then we always knew it was going to be Reacher. The one guy who doesn’t care how big or powerful you are. And despite being half of Paulie's size, he did what no one else could.
He made Paulie bleed. But we all knew he could.
Now let's explore the details!
Reacher Season 3 finale: The ambush

Season 3’s finale wasted no time. It picked up right where Episode 7 had left us. We are thrown straight into the action.
An ambush was waiting. McCabe aka Quinn had misled Beck. He had sent him to a different location. Everything was set up. Reacher was ready with his sniper to put down Quinn once and for all. The ATF was there too.
But Quinn’s men were ready for a fight that nobody knew about. What happened next was a full-blown shootout. The ATF took heavy casualties. Quinn’s men dropped like flies as well.
Reacher kept one of Quinn’s men alive so that he could take him as a hostage and use him to get past Beck's gate. Reacher needed him to drive one of the trucks heading to Beck’s house.
So the pieces were set. Two trucks rolled in. One carrying Reacher, Neagley, and the hostage. And the other carrying Susan Duffy, Villanueva and Zachary Beck. Their mission was to get inside without raising suspicion.
But there was one huge obstacle. Quite literally. There was the muscle-bound monster guarding the place. Everyone knew getting past him wouldn't be easy.
But they played it cool. The trucks rolled in, and everyone kept their heads down. Just when we think they have made it, Paulie shouts that they have parked in the wrong place.
That was it. The moment when everything turned.
Reacher Season 3 finale: The showdown

Reacher stayed behind while the others got inside the house. And that’s when the fight we had all been waiting for finally began.
It was exactly what we expected in the beginning. Paulie, being bigger, dominated initially. Reacher took hit after hit, almost breaking his nose. He was flat on the ground, bruised. But when he spotted a gun just within reach, he stretched his hand toward it.
However, Paulie kicked it away and said:
"No guns. We do this like men."
Reacher got up and locked eyes with Paulie and said:
“Fine.”
And the next second, a ruthless kick landed straight on Paulie's crotch.
Well, this was expected. Reacher never misses a chance to take his opponent down his way, even when he’s getting knocked around. And if that means humiliating Paulie in the process? Even better.
But the big monster just got even more terrifying. With a smirk on his face, he took every punch without the slightest scratch on his face. And that fight didn’t just stay outside. It spilled into the barn.
Reacher began pushing back with every ounce of strength in him. He landed punch after punch on almost every part of Paulie's body, and that's when we finally see blood on his face.
Reacher then proceeded to do more damage to his face with a shovel. Soon after the two men crashed into a stack of sacks. For a split second it seemed like neither of them was getting up. But Paulie did. And he found Reacher buried under the sacks without any motion.
Paulie took this opportunity and grabbed a chain with a hook. He wrapped it around Reacher's neck and hoisted him up toward the roof. This seemed like a brutal reminder of how Dominique was killed by Quinn. But Reacher wasn't going to go down easy.
He pulled himself up with his grit and core strength. Finally, he broke free by yanking at the chain. Outside, Paulie heard the thud behind him, and his facial expression conveyed that he was exhausted by Reacher’s relentlessness.
After this, the fight became even more brutal. Blow after blow, they fought until they rolled right off the cliff and into the ocean below. The Reacher vs. Paulie fight had reached its peak. And the real showdown began: the underwater fight.
In the end, Reacher managed to turn the odds in his favor. This proved that brains and strategy win over brute force. Reacher did what no one else could, and we got a finale that was as thrilling as it was satisfying.
