Ransom Canyon recently came to its conclusion, with its tenth and final episode titled, Maybe It's Time Yancy Grey Dies Too, effectively offering the characters a mixed bag when it comes to their fate.

Ransom Canyon is based on the namesake book series penned by Jodi Thomas, and features Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly in the leading roles of Staten and Quinn. They are supported by Jack Schumacher's Yancy and Eoin Macken's Davis.

Here's everything that we know about the ending of Ransom Canyon.

What happened at the ending of Ransom Canyon?

The final episode of Ransom Canyon had Cap, played by James Brolin, meeting his demise. There's no doubt that such an event had a tremendous impact on Yancy's future in the town, as he is Cap's grandson and has been drifting from one place to another until he eventually decided to look for accomodation on the ranch. As everyone else in the town comes to know about Yancy's lineage, it is a settled fact that the ranch will pass over to him following Cap's death. Yancy, on his part, vows to never sell the ranch.

On the other hand, Staten and Quinn once againt went their separate ways despite the entire storyline presenting them as two souls who are longing for each other's validation. The bone of contention between them was the idea of Quinn taking up a job in New York based shows.

Interestingly, the finale also saw several storylines that could be taken up in a potential second season of the show. For instance, Sam and Davis were seen scheming to control the ranch. As Sam is almost in bed with Ewing Oil, he has become increasingly wary of Staten's designs and considers himself to be the only one who has a rightful claim over the ranch.

Jack Schumacher speaks about the Netflix show

In a recent interview with Parade, actor Jack Schumacher shed some light on the Netflix show and his character. When asked about what attracted him to the character, Schumacher answered:

"Well, right away, I loved the character. You get your audition slip and you get a character breakdown. And I had a lot of time to work on this, because we were going through the strike during it. So I didn't know I had it. I kind of felt like I did. So I was sitting with it for six months, which is normally something that I don't get to do."

He added:

"But he's such a complex character. He has these demons, and he has a past that he's trying to make amends for, and he's trying to change, and he's trying to be a different man. And I've certainly made my mistakes in my life, and I've tried to make amends for those things. And so I think that there's something really relatable there."

All the episodes of Ransom Canyon are exclusively available for streaming on Netflix.
