Raegan Revord plays Missy Cooper in Young Sheldon. She is the twin sister of Sheldon Cooper and the younger version of the character originally portrayed by Courtney Henggeler in The Big Bang Theory. Raegan is shown as a confident child who never hesitates to speak her heart out, she eventually becomes a parent-like figure in the house as the seasons progress. By the end of the series, she is seen grieving for his dead father.

The character arc of Missy Cooper undergoes a significant evolution and in a recent interview with Den of Geek, Revord compared Missy Cooper with Tayler Swift's Eras Tour. Read on to know what she said in the interview.

Here is how the Young Sheldon actor compares her character with Taylor Swift

Eras Tour is Talor Swift's 2023 film that takes the viewers through her career, covering all her concerts. It depicts the artist's evolution of craft and progression of style through the years. Similarly, at the beginning of Sheldon, Missy Cooper is seen as sharp-witted, someone who fearlessly speaks her mind, similar to Taylor Swift's one of the "Eras" when she is shown as confident and charming.

When asked how she felt when she learned that the series was wrapping up after seven beautiful seasons, she expressed her nostalgia for playing Missy Cooper, comparing her to Taylor Swift and emphasizing how Missy as a character was transforming in each season.

"Definitely. I think it’s been cool because it’s like each season is almost – I’m a Swiftie, so it’s kind of like Missy’s little “eras.”"

She further explained how in season 3 of Young Sheldon Missy was a changed person then in season 7 she started to be more responsible and almost became a parent-like figure in the family, offering shoulders to her grieving mother and other family members.

"I feel like how Taylor Swift has her “eras,” it’s kind of how each season is a different Missy. In the first one, she’s a bit more opinionated and she’s the sassy one with the good comebacks and everything. Then, in season three, you have the layers peeled back and you can see a different side to her. I don’t want to go through all of the eras, but in season seven, you see her take on responsibility, become like the parent in the house, and fill in Mary’s shoes. Missy’s had her own Eras Tour throughout Young Sheldon."

On being asked about what she thinks should be the legacy of Missy Cooper throwing back some light on the original series, she admits that it should be her "confidence".

"I feel like her legacy could be confidence because throughout the seasons, you kind of see [her] Eras Tour – you see different sides to Missy, but one of the things that stays constant is her confidence. In the beginning of the show, she’s not afraid to tell Sheldon why he’s being annoying or what he’s doing wrong and she just gives it to him as it is. She’s very honest."

What does the maker of Young Sheldon have to say about the actor Raegan Revord

According to reports the creators, Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, acknowledge that they didn't give Revord much freedom in terms of playing Missy Cooper in the beginning but over the years the kind of impact she created with her performances they started to trust her even to lead a story emotionally in Young Sheldon.

"At the beginning, I think Raegan would throw in one-line zingers here and there, but as the years went on and she got so good, we could really lean on her for a whole story or an emotional story."

Young Sheldon season 7 is arriving on Netflix on April 15, 2025.
