Jeopardy!'s October 16, 2024 episode featured one of the show's alleged "questionable" rulings from host Ken Jennings. Fans must know about the recently emerged college student Rishabh Wuppalapati, who was on a winning streak.

However, during Wednesday’s episode of Jeopardy!, fans were divided in their opinions about the host and his ruling.

The category for the said question was from College Towns, while the question was,

"Two schools in the Southeastern Conference are located in cities with this same name but in different states."

The Illinois native Rishabh competed against Jay Eversman, an environmental attorney, and Rachel Cassidy, an associate professor. As a result, Rishabh and Rachel both won the round after correctly guessing the clue, "What is Columbia?" After wagering $9,801, Rishabh won $20,201 after his second-day winning streak.

However, fans raised the issue later, as Rishabh, as seen on the screen, appeared to be a jumble of letters that could not be easily identified. Some fans called the winning player's answer "totally illegible," while some shared how "Rachel was robbed tonight."

Jeopardy! fans took to social media platforms to share their opinions about how the show host ruled Rishabh Wuppalapati's recent win in his favor.

A fan shared on social media platform X,

"This chicken scratch should've never been accepted as a correct answer. Rachel was robbed tonight. #Jeopardy."

Another fan wrote,

"Oh the intent was definitely there but besides Columbia, you some would also say some see "cdumlaif"otoo."

A Jeopardy! fan shared,

"You've got better eyesight than me then I'm not arguing that it's there but I'd say it's legible by the slightest of margins. That's just me though."

A fan teased Rishabh's answer and wrote,

"Looks like something Sean Connery would've wrote on SNL jeopardy."

A fan supported Rishabh and mentioned how the pen used on the show is "hard to use" and commented,

"As someone who's been on the show, the pen is hard to use, especially if you're trying to write quickly. I can see the letters in Columbia there."

One more fan shared how the writings on Rishabh's answer were "just scribble" and commented,

"You can read the rest of the answer fine, but the name is just scribble. I think you're right."

A fan shared how instead of "Columbia," Rishabh wrote "Colunding,"

"It's bullshit. He wrote colunding."

One more fan criticized Jeopardy! And wrote,

"Weird response given it's just Jeopardy, but ok."

A Jeopardy! fan wrote,

"I didn't call a contestant anything. I called his writing chicken scratch, which it was and again… it's just Jeopardy."

One of the fans, who was a friend of Rachel Cassidy, shared the good wishes and commented,

"@Jeopardy star, friend and colleague: Dr. Rachel Cassidy. So proud of you."

Another fan criticized Rishabh's answer and commented,

"Rishabh: I wrote *insert correct answer* #jeopardy."

Jeopardy! October 16, 2024: Why are fans not happy with the ruling?

For Wednesday's episode of Jeopardy! the correct guess was, "What is Columbia?" It was for the question, "Two schools in the Southeastern Conference are located in cities with this same name but in different states."

For the answer part, when the emerging champion Rishabh's answer could not be easily read, as there have been many jumbled alphabets, even though his answer was ruled to be correctly guessed.

Despite not being clearly visible what was written, the show host, Ken Jennings, shared it was the correct answer and that he could see "Columbia" in the answer.

Some fans did not agree with the ruling because Rachel, the player against Rishabh, would have won if Rishabh's answer had not been ruled out correctly.

Some fans, taking their views on social media platform X, referred to the male participant's answer as "Colunding," "just scribble," and even "cdumlaif" as the writings on the screen.
