Public Disorder plot details explored

At the heart of this Italian crime drama is the Mobile Unit team in Rome or simply Rome. What's unique about this squad is that it operates with unconventional and extreme methods. The story kicks off with a leader being injured after a violent clash in Val di Susa, leading Michele to take the lead as the commander.

The riot squad's lives are always at risk as the protestors hate them more than the government. Violence can erupt anytime and the squad should always be prepared to prevent massive bloodshed.

The official synopsis of the who is as follows:

"A night of fierce clashes in Val di Susa. A team of the Mobile Unit of Rome is orphaned by its leader, who is seriously injured. The team of Mazinga (Marco Giallini), Marta (Valentina Bellè) and Salvatore (Pierluigi Gigante), however, is not a team like the others, it is Rome, which has learned to oppose riots with extreme methods and a tribal, almost family-like harmony."

It continues:

"A family that the new commander, Michele (Adriano Giannini), will have to deal with, a son of the reformist police, for whom teams like that are the symbol of an old school, all to be refounded. As if the chaos that invests the new formation at the moment of maximum internal fragility were not enough, there is also that given by a new wave of discontent of the people towards the institutions. A new "hot autumn" against which our own are called to stand and in which each protagonist is forced to question the deepest meaning of their work and their belonging to the team."

Their extreme ways of handling riots can be seen in the trailer, where they are seen beating up individuals who participated in the riots. However, the new commander's approach to policing doesn't sit well with the team, as they aren't used to the modernized system.

The team finds itself in unexpected chaos when more riots and unrest take place. They begin to question their roles and think if they really belong to the team. Public Disorder will follow both: the personal and professional lives of the key characters.
