The latest trending thriller miniseries Prime Target features Leo Woodall in the titular role of Edward Brooks, a mathematician whose research on prime numbers puts him in constant danger.
Young Brooks is a Ph.D. candidate at Cambridge University, working on a potential breakthrough. His focus is on deeply understanding prime numbers in a way that can potentially unlock every digital security system in the world. If he succeeds in his research, Edward Brooks will be able to break any encrypted code, emerging as a threat to global cybersecurity.
This means Edward has now become the prime target of powerful organizations, intelligence agencies, and secretive groups who wish to use him for their agendas. While Ed is the focus of the series, it also follows other key characters like Taylah Sanders.
While Taylah works as an NSA agent and is tasked with keeping tabs on mathematicians, she chooses to protect Ed in his research. As seen in the early episodes, she saved Ed from attackers while he was searching for Safiya Zamil, who died after working on a similar research to Ed.
In the latest episode, Taylah's backstory is explored through flashbacks and Ed almost gets killed. Now that the stakes are high, they must act fast and carefully.

Prime Target Season 1 Episode 6 release date and time
The TV series will have a total of eight episodes, and the first five are already available to stream. As for the upcoming episode, Prime Target Season 1 Episode 6, The Last Link will come out on February 19, 2025, at midnight on Apple TV+.

What happened in Prime Target Season 1 Episode 5: A quick recap
Prime Target Season 1 Episode 5 House of Wisdom sees Edward and Taylah in Baghdad, searching for a key researcher, Andre, who's also involved in the mystery of the Mersenne Collection. But before they begin their quest, flashback scenes reveal how Jane took young Taylah under her wings.
When Taylah was grieving the loss of a friend, Jane comforted her and offered her a job at NSA. She encouraged Taylah to use her skills and intelligence for good, and she gradually became one of the agents in the future.
The flashback in Prime Target Episode 5 explains why Taylah still trusts Jane as she has been a mentor more than just being her boss. However, Taylah is also aware that Jane is hiding something and the truth might eventually come out.
In Baghdad, Edward and Taylah are headed to meet Andrea, not knowing that Jane has sent Kasim to follow them and kill Ed. Since Taylah trusts Jane, she keeps sharing her location with her in the Prime Target episode.
Meanwhile, Andrea got her hands on a 17th-century French coin, which became a major clue. Later, Ed and Taylah meet her, and Andrea is furious to know that Taylah used to spy on her and Professor Mallinder in the past.
Taylah then also informs about Mallinder's fake video made with AI, explaining that someone is manipulating Andrea. Overwhelmed with the information, Andrea refuses to help them.
Later in the evening, Ed and Taylah discuss the truth, with Taylah explaining that it can sometimes be too dangerous. Ed then decides to meet Andrea alone at the dig site, while Jane asks Taylah to stay away from Ed.
However, Taylah doesn't follow her order and secretly follows Edward. As he reaches the market near the site, Kasim is set to kill him. Surprisingly, just before Kasim is about to eliminate Ed, he is attacked by a Russian mercenary.
Before Taylah reaches Kasim, he's dead, and the Russian mercenary Bogdan has disappeared. She couldn't see who saved Ed, while the mathematician had no idea he almost got killed. But Taylah has now learned about Jane's true intentions.
Andrea on the other side discovers that the true secret behind prime numbers might be in France and Taylah and Ed must waste no time to go there. While Andrea helped them in the quest, she refused to join Ed and Taylah in France.
