Apple TV's Prime Target increased the stakes for Edward and Taylah in their research to make the Prime Finder.
Episode 5 revealed Taylah's relationship with NSA's Jane and how she acted like a Godmother and helped her when she was going through a rough patch in her life. It is also revealed that she recruited her into the NSA.
But later, Jane's true identity is revealed as the episode also sees her seeing an NSA agent to take Edward out. Edward is luckily saved, and the agent is killed in the Baghdad marketplace. Moments after his death, Taylah discovers that it was none other than Jane who planned the attack as she overhears her voice in the agent's earpiece.
In the episode's final moments, Jane also discovers that Taylah knows her truth as she sees her picking up the earpiece in the CCTV footage.

Jane plans to kill Edward in Prime Target Season 1 Episode 5
After Edward made the obvious connection between Kaplar and the NSA, it was only time that it was revealed that the NSA was not trying to protect the academics. Rather, they were trying to stop people like Edward from venturing too far to pursue the truth.
Prime Target Episode 5 finally reveals that Taylah's boss, Jane, cannot be trusted as she sends Kasim, a freelance NSA agent, to take Edward out. Taylah's connection with Jane hinders her from seeing her for who she is, but Jane wants Edward dead.
She asks Taylah not to accompany Edward when he goes to meet Andrea in the market, to save her from the chaos that will ensue after Kasim kills Edward. But Taylah tags along anyway.
In the busy marketplace, while Kasim plans to kill Edward in Prime Target Episode 5, Bogdan saves him and eventually kills Kasim. Bogdana and Akram's identity is still a mystery, and after Bogdan saves Edward, he becomes even more mysterious.
Is there any other entity after Andrea and Edward's research mission? Did Bogdan save Edward so that he could take advantage of his research work? The upcoming episodes are likely to solve the mystery behind Bogdan and Akram.
What did Andrea and Edward find in House of Wisdom in Prime Target Season 1 Episode 5?
In Prime Target Episode 4, Andrea gives Edward access to the House of Wisdom so that he can decipher the codes of the Bayt al-Hikmah and continue his search.
They notice a plethora of codes and inscribed writings on the walls of the House of Wisdom, and Edward frantically starts to decipher it. But the duo comes across a section that has been destroyed due to water corrosion. Without the writing on those parts, Edward's research would be incomplete.
Andrea then noticed the 17th-century French coin and saw a paper imprint on it. She assumes that the French must have made physical copies of the writing on the walls, and the parts destroyed by nature would still be preserved somewhere in Franch's libraries.
Their research tells them that the symbols are still physically recorded at the University of Orleans in France. Taylah, Andrea, and Edward decide to go to Orleans to continue their research.
