Apple TV's Prime Target finally concluded with an intense finale, where Edward Brooke finally learns the truth about his dangerous invention.
After an intense run with NSA agent Taylah, he nabs Alderman, who tells his plans about the Prime Finder and how he aims to use it for his selfish and chaotic motives.
The series ends with Edward killing Alderman and becoming a fugitive with a dangerous weapon, i.e., the Prime Finder.
Here is the complete recap of the Prime Target finale.
Jane and Taylah's showdown explained in the Prime Target finale
After Edward meets one of his old friends, Fiona, in his hotel room, he hatches a plan with Taylah to take down Kaplar Institute. But first, Edward burns all his books about the prime finder, so that it will reach the wrong hands.
While Edward creates a diversion for the Kaplars' security, Fiona lets Taylah access Kaplar's security, and the latter uses the Prime Finder to enter the Institute's system. With the help of Prime Finder, Taylah enters Kaplar's system and lets out all their corrupt secrets in front of the world.
Jane immediately understands that their Institute's security breach is Taylah's work and the two women finally confront each other in an open field.
While Jane admits that she still loves and cares for Taylah, the two cannot return to their previous relationship because Taylah knows about Jane and Kaplar's corruption and has also exposed it to the world. She also warns her that by taking such a drastic step, she has also made Edward a fugitive who the government will hunt down.
Edward learns the truth about the Prime Finder in the Prime Target finale
Edward goes to meet Professor Alderman, where he learns the truth about the Prime Finder and how he was a pawn in the hands of the professor, who was adamant about bringing a revolution.
He learns that Alderman created a public key system in his college days in 1975, which eventually fell into the wrong hands of political figures, and he was disowned from his creation. Angered by this, he was on a revengeful path since then and was looking for a mathematician like Edward, who would make a Prime Finder that would open all the locks of the world and bring a revolution.
In the Prime Target finale, Alderman confesses to Edward that he was the one who planned the Baghdad bombing and aims to infiltrate missile systems, disrupt all banking systems, and bring utter chaos.
Edward is shocked to learn the power of his invention and fatally shoots Alderman and flees the scene. He later meets with Taylah and confesses to her that he is thinking about suicide because his brain still has the algorithm stored, which makes him dangerous.
Taylah motivates him to use his knowledge for good and gets arrested for Alderman's murder.
What does the Prime Target epilogue mean?
With Taylah arrested for his crimes, Edward runs free in the world with her phone, which has digitized Prime Finder.
He sees Andrew Carter getting promoted as NSA's new Director of Operations following Taylah's stunt, which exposed the institute's dirty secrets.
He sees Carter's news on the Billboard, with Taylah's phone in hand, and it is implied that he will make good on her promise and use his knowledge to take down Carter.
