Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians takes the audience on a fantastical adventure to Olympus, where the titular demigod is accused of stealing the sky god Zeus’ lightning bolt. The young boy then sets out on a mission to restore peace in Olympus with the help of his friends and his newfound powers.

Based on Rick Riordan’s novel series of the same name, the show has been loved by viewers for its intriguing world and stellar performances by the likes of Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, and Dior Goodjohn.

Now that the series returns for a second season, it will introduce new and exciting characters to make the story more engaging. Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 has so far confirmed 12 additions to the cast.


New additions to the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2

The first actor who was officially announced to be joining the cast was Daniel Diemer. He has been cast in the role of Tyson, a Cyclops and the son of Poseidon, which makes him Percy’s half-brother.

Diemer is known for playing Paul Munsky in the Netflix coming-of-age film The Half of It. The Deliverance actress Andra Day has joined the show as Athena, the goddess of wisdom and the mother of Annabeth. In the second season, Resident Evil star Tamara Smart will star as Zeus’s rebellious daughter, Thalia Grace.

Veteran actor Courtney B. Vance recognized for his performances in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Genius: Aretha, has been cast as Zeus. Lance Reddick originally played the role in the first season, but the actor unfortunately died in March 2023.

Roseanne star Sandra Bernhard, What We Do in the Shadows actress Kristen Schaal, and All-American Girl alum Margaret Cho have been confirmed to play the Grey sisters. They will portray Anger, Tempest, and Wasp, respectively, and will be seen operating an Olympian taxi service.

Additionally, Timothy Simons has been cast as King Tantalus, Zeus’s son who has been cursed with eternal hunger. Simons is an actor and comedian famous for starring in the HBO satirical comedy Veep.

Standoff actress Rosemarie DeWitt will appear in Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 as the goddess of magic Circe/C.C. Arctic Air star Aleks Paunovic will portray Poseidon’s son Polyphemus.

Child actress Beatrice Kitsos, who previously starred in Are You Afraid of the Dark? has also been confirmed for the second season. She will play Alison Simms, a demigod who lives in the human world. Finally, Jessica Jones actor Kevin Chacon will replace Andrew Alvarez as Luke's half-brother Chris Rodriguez.
