Starz's Outlander is set to wrap up with Season 8, but the historical drama will live on through its upcoming prequel— Outlander: Blood of My Blood. It will carry forward the legacy of the original show by offering a fresh storyline and new characters.

While the main series focuses on Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser's love story in 18th-century Scotland, the prequel will focus on the forbidden love between Jamie's parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser. As Jamie revealed in Outlander Season 1, his parents encountered numerous objections and hurdles after they fell in love.

Claire's parents Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp love story occurs during World War I. This means the prequel will follow two different times: the 18th century and early 20th century, ensuring parallel love stores across eras.

However, one question that many might wonder before the main series ends is the mystery of Jamie’s ghost. It has been a long-standing puzzle since season 1, and interestingly, Outlander: Blood of My Blood might offer an unexpected link to solving this mystery.

The Outlander series debuted on Starz in August 2014, and since then, the mystery of Jamie Fraser’s ghost has puzzled many fans. As seen in Season 1 Episode 1, "Saassenach," Claire and her husband Frank are on their second honeymoon in Scotland, and while walking through the rain, Frank notices a mysterious man looking at Claire.

on reaching him, Frank asks if he needs help, but before he sees his face and gets to investigate him, the man disappears. When Claire asks Frank if he has seen a ghost, he replies - "I'm not all sure that I haven't". Since then, the man is believed to be the ghost of Jamie Fraser, waiting for Claire to return after his death.

This also leads to the belief that Jamie will die in the past and Claire will go back to her original timeline, thinking that Jamie has been lost forever. However, the prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood could provide a fresh twist to this mystery.

Since it focuses on Claire and Jamie's parents, it might be possible that it's not Jamie’s ghost haunting Claire, but his father Brian Fraser’s. If this theory comes true, the prequel spinoff might explain that Brian, after his death, dedicated his spirit to guiding Claire through the stones which ultimately leads her to Jamie.

This will not only solve the mystery but also offer a heartwarming and protective explanation for Claire’s experience with the ghost. The prequel might explain that it was Brian Fraser's love for his son and daughter-in-law and not Jamie's tragic fate which was initially believed.
