Andor Season 2 will be accessible to everyone in a matter of a few hours on April 22, 2025. Critics who have seen the show in its entirety have given it glowing reviews. But for everyone else, it will be available to us over the next few weeks. The second season follows a unique release strategy for the second season of Andor. Instead of releasing one episode weekly, three episodes of the series will be released together in a week.
This is because the upcoming season will be the last season of Andor, and the show has to catch up to Cassian Andor's timeline leading to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. And we know that one year will pass between every three episodes of Andor Season 2. Now, we have probable runtimes for all 12 episodes. In general, it seems that all episodes are over 30 minutes but fall under 60 minutes.
The runtime for all twelve Andor Season 2 has been possibly revealed:
Andor Season 2 will stream on Disney+ between April 22, 2025, and May 13, 2025. As stated before, a batch of three episodes will be released weekly until May 13, when Episodes, 10,11, and 12 will be released together. Now, listed below are the possible runtimes of all twelve episodes along with their release date:
The runtime mentioned above for the episodes of Andor Season 2 is in tandem with the episodes of the first season that had similar runtimes. Tony Gilroy, the showrunner for both seasons, humorously addressed the release strategy of the upcoming second season by saying:
“To be honest with you, I feel really bad for the podcasters who are really going to have to catch up. Three episodes a week is a big nut to break down and analyze.”
He said this in a Collider interview published on April 20, 2025. In the same interview, Gilroy teased the possibility that Andor Season 2 might be released on the big screen:
"It's been discussed. We've mixed [Episodes] 1, 2, and 3 to play theatrically. They do need a little bit of an extra mix. We mix differently for how we deliver normally, because people watch on their iPads, on their TVs — it’s 5.1 [aspect ratio]. If you’re mixing for theaters, it's not like a switch. It takes a couple hours or a day to do that. So we have [Episodes] 1, 2, and 3. If there was enough interest, I'm sure Disney would roadshow it at some point. Why not? I think they have interest in showing [Episode] 12 going into Rouge [One], but that depends on how the show does. They look good on a big screen."
What is Andor Season 2 about?
Set a year after the events of the first season, Andor Season 2 will continue Cassian Andor's journey as a rebel after joining it in the first season. While we don't know much about the finale of this series, we do know that the closing minutes will be set just moments before the first time we meet Cassian in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
One year will pass between every three episodes, and the entire first season was set five years before Rogue One. Thus, we need to remember that a year has passed every week.
"“Andor” Season 2 will see the characters and their relationships intensify as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound."
