Shark Tank mentor Daymond John shared a clip via Instagram on February 12, 2025, sharing how he hires interns to "work" and not get "coffee." Reality show fans who follow the Shark must know how he often shares insights and stories about various things and topics.
In a recently shared clip on the platform, Shark Tank's Daymond John opened up about how he hires employees and how most of his staff members started as "interns" in his company.
"I hire interns first. I get interns from colleges as many as I can and you, you know then this is not to get coffee. This is to really work, put in the work. You may not be good at social media in various things. Hire somebody in communications, hire somebody here, hire somebody in graphics, hire somebody you know obviously who's new biz. 80 to 85% of my staff started as interns," shared Daymond John.

In a recently shared Instagram clip, Shark Tank's Daymond John mentioned an interesting topic: hiring interns. Everyone is well aware of the fact that while starting a career in almost any field, working as an intern is essential.
After learning various aspects of the job and getting familiar with multiple things associated with that job, one gets promoted according to the best of their abilities, skills, and how they handle various situations. Stating more about that, explaining the process of hiring interns, Shark Tank's mentor stated:
"Listen, you're used to making this. I'mma give you this for three months, and you need to figure yourself out. You know, when you get somebody highly qualified like that, you can always barter and trade with really great talent."
He mentioned trying and "growing" people "in-house" because while navigating through various works in their own company, they tend to acquire "their own versions." He also talked about making more money and how people get "too busy" while doing that.
He captioned the clip under: "Have you found success from hiring within?" and talked about hiring people who are "on the way coming up," meaning to hire interns who are learning and starting their jobs.
He also talked about some employees who might have "left all the agencies," and are on their way "coming up." Daymond John emphasized that individuals need to start "nurturing? people inside despite being "really, really hard."
