Ahead of the premiere of Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Collider's Steve Weintraub hosted two returning stars, Jeri Ryan and Todd Stashwick. Jeri was introduced to Star Trek in Star Trek: Voyager as Seven of Nine, while Todd Stashwick appeared as Captain Shaw of the USS Titan.
In the interview, they discussed what they thought fans were going to love in the season while also revealing how the series paid homage to the original series- "by making something new with the same old ingredients", as Todd put it in the interview.

Here is what the Star Trek: Picard cast said about Season 3
Todd revealed how it felt "old and new" at the same time as it had elements from all the Trek Fandom. There were nods at the original series along with TNG and The Voyager in Star Trek: Picard:
"There are nods to the original series. There are nods to TNG, the voyager and DS9 and Picard itself. it is its own animal because while it's looking back, it is making something new, but with the ingredients of the past."
On being asked if they could reveal something about the season without getting in trouble, Jeri laughably expressed that the fans were "going to be thrilled" and definitely feel satisfied by the end.
"I will say the fans are going to be thrilled; I really believe that. I think every part of the story is just so beautifully done for all of these characters. The arc of all these characters is so respectful and beautifully done. When it's going to end, I think the fans are going to be very, very satisfied. " said Jeri before throwing the same question to Todd.
Todd further said that he was a Trek fan himself and the show was made with "heart and affection" for the Trek fans. The host then asked about the episode which would be their favourite out of the 10 episodes of Season 3. For Todd, it was Episode 3 or 4 as he enjoyed playing his character the most in those two in Star Trek: Picard.
"I think I love 4 or 3, personally, because I got to do everything. There is an amazing scene they wrote for me with Patrick and Ed, and by the end, when his character has some fun in the engine room, the whole episode just ends beautifully with wonder. So that satisfied me as an actor and also as a Trek fan."
Jeri said she loved how her character's arc ended in Season 3. Her character's struggles with where she belonged and where she was became quite interesting in Star Trek: Picard.
