Below Deck Down Under star Captain Jason questioned the crew members in the newly released March 24, 2025 episode. Deckhand Johnny Arvanitis needed some help in picking up the anchor but Wihan and Adair Werley were watching videos on their phone. Captain Jason witnessed this via a CCTV camera and expressed frustration as to why they were not helping Johnny. Jason said:

“Are you kidding me? I can see everything on the CCTV. There’s no sense of urgency. We’re in a crowded anchorage. We’ve got swell coming in. I need all eyes on deck. It’s not acceptable.”

Below Deck Down Under season 3's Captain Jason tells Wihan to "sharpen" his team

After the anchor issue was resolved, Jason saw Adair bringing coffee for her and Wihan. Upon seeing this, the captain stated she could only do that when she was on a break. He highlighted that the crew wasn't on vacation but had to fulfill their responsibilities and complete the given tasks in a timely manner. He continued:

“You guys are missing the point. You’re on deck. Not on break. That’s what it’s about. That’s what’s called the real world. They just don’t understand. It’s not a retreat. We’re here to work."

On Below Deck Down Under season 3 episode 8, Captain Jason asked Wihan to showcase his leadership skills more and be firm in his decisions. He told him to "sharpen" his team and teach them the "right way" to follow the instructions and be mindful of their given responsibilities. Jason gave an example of cast member Adair, he said:

"Caught Adair down getting you and her coffee this morning. Like that’s the moment that I need you to step up and go, ‘Hey. No. No coffee. 7 o’clock, we’re on.’ Not teaching your team the right way is not a leader.”

The Below Deck Down Under star also warned Wihan to resolve the communication problems within the crew emphasizing that as the head of the department, he had to make sure everything went accordingly. Jason pointed out that the crew had complaints about Wihan which could lead to him "making changes" if not resolved in time.

The upcoming episodes will give a closer look at Wihan's leadership and the changes Captain Jason might make in the near future as the crew struggles to manage tasks and follow proper communication.

Below Deck Down Under episodes are released exclusively on Mondays at 8/7c and the next day on Peacock TV. Fans can follow the cast members on their respective Instagram accounts.
