Prime Video’s latest offering, the zombie rom-com K-drama Newtopia offers a unique storyline and has been quite well received by the fans. Starring Park Jeong-min and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo as the leads Lee Jae-yoon and Kang Young-ju, the show follows the couple as they break up and a zombie apocalypse breaks out, making the couple attempt at reuniting on that very same day.

Kim Ji-Soo as Kang Young-Joo

Kim Ji-Soo portrays the female lead Kang Young-Joo in Newtopia. Unhappy that her boyfriend Jae-yoon would be going away for a while for his mandatory military training, Young-Joo breaks up with him. However, after a zombie apocalypse breaks out on that very day, she decides to get back with him.

Kim Ji-Soo is mainly famous as a member of the band BLACKPINK. However, this young talented singer has also been making her mark with her acting skills and Snowdrop was the first evidence of that.

Now, with Newtopia, the singer is returning to the field of acting and wants to continue her career as both a singer and an actor.

Park Jeong-Min as Lee Jae-Yoon

Park Jeong-Min stars as the hero Lee Jae-Yoon in Newtopia. He is shown to be going for his military training, which causes his breakup with Young-Joo.

He also happens to be the first one to anticipate something is going very wrong as he sees people around him starting to behave strangely, hinting at the impending zombie outbreak.

Jeong-Min is quite a name in the Korean industry and his previous projects include Bleak Night, Sweet Home, Hellbound, Sunset in My Hometown, Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet, etc.

Im Sung-Jae as Ra In-Ho

Im Sung-Jae plays the role of Ra In-Ho and is in the same squad as Jae-Yoon. Despite being the most senior member in that squad, In-Ho is shown to face difficulties with his training. However, whatever he lacks as a military professional, he makes it up with his sense of solidarity and friendship.

Im Sung-Jae’s previous projects include Gangnam B-Side, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Emergency Declaration, The Worst of Evil, etc.
