Bridgerton Season 4 is moving closer to completion! In a recent interview with Women's Wear Daily, Yerin Ha, who plays the female lead Sophie Baek, shared exciting news about the progress of filming.

"It’s going so well. We just finished block three and we’re heading into block four now, so the final stint of the long marathon. But it’s just been so wonderful and work has never felt like work. It’s just felt like playtime. It’s been so nice."

Yerin Ha revealed that they have finished filming “Block 3” and are now starting “Block 4,” which is the last part of production. In television, a “block” usually means two episodes filmed together. Since Season 4 has eight episodes, six are already done, with only two left to shoot.

Filming for the first six episodes took about six months. At this pace, the entire season should wrap up in about two more months.

Benedict’s love story takes center stage in Bridgerton Season 4

Netflix confirmed in July 2024 that Luke Thompson will be the lead in Season 4, playing Benedict Bridgerton. His love interest, Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, was officially announced in September 2024. Sophie’s surname was changed from Beckett to Baek to honor her Korean heritage, making this season a historic moment for the show’s representation.

On February 14, Netflix released a sneak peek video from the set, along with several still images. One of the images confirmed that Colin and Penelope now have a child. Another image teased Benedict and Sophie’s first meeting at a masked ball, where Benedict is drawn to a mysterious woman in a silver mask.

Season 4 is based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman, which tells Benedict’s love story. While Sophie’s character in the book is not Asian, Netflix has consistently focused on diversity in casting, leading to this new interpretation.

As of now, Netflix has not announced an official release date for Bridgerton Season 4, but with filming almost done, fans can expect more updates soon.
