The Bear actor Joel McHale is reportedly set to join the cast of Paramount Plus’ Yellowjackets as reported by Deadline. The veteran actor is going to guest star in the upcoming Season 3 of the show.
Although McHale is confirmed to make an appearance on the Emmy-nominated series, details concerning his character remain strictly undisclosed even by his representatives.McHale took to his Instagram account to share the news about his new endeavor.
He shared an excerpt from Variety related to his upcoming appearance. McHale expressed his delight with a dash of humor:
"I'm very excited to be a part of this light romantic comedy series #yellowjackets..."
The actor brings a wealth of expereince with noteable roles in shows such as Community, The Soup, and Almost Live. The show was recently renewed for Season 3 and was co-created by the makers of Narcos - Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson.
Joining them is executive producers Jonathan Lisco, Jeff Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa, and Brad Van Arragon. Paramount + teamed up with Lionsgate and Showtime to produce the show.
Is there a release date for Yellowjackets Season 3?
Yellowjackets was recently renewed for a new season and has entered the production phase. While there isn't a release date yet, the show is eying a slot in 2025.
While the date remains uncertain, Yellowjacket star Christina Ricci did drop some hints. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she claimed it would be “even more shocking and surprising” than the previous seasons:
"It's definitely going to be brutal. But, they also put a lot of comedy into it. So I think it's just going to be...extremely Yellowjackets-y."
How did Season 2 of Yellowjackets end?
Yellowjackets is centered around a group of high schoolers surviving the aftermath of a traumatic plane crash in the wilderness. What was supposed to be a celebration for a soccer team unraveled into a devastating trip to hell.
Circling back to the mind-bending finale in Season 2, Yellowjackets ended with several revelations and a deaths.According to Hollywood Reporter, the death of Natalie was foreshadowed in the pilot episode of Season 1.
In the finale, as the survivors' hankering for any form of sustenance grew, they let Javi become a part of the wild and appointed Nat as a leader instead.
Fast-forward to the time skip - at the reunion, it was Misty who became Nat’s undoing. Tragedy struck when Misty ended up killing her dear friend.
Season 3 promises to keep up the tempo and deliver on the high expectations from fans.
