"Writing Season 4 now": Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis breaks silence around the fourth chapter of Apple TV comedy drama

After months of guesswork and speculations about whether Ted Lasso would return for an eventual season 4, fans finally have a definite answer.

Jason Sudeikis, the co-creator and Ted himself, has given out an official confirmation that Season 4 is officially in its early stages of the writing process.

While an appearance was made by him on the New Heights podcast, hosted by NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, Sudeikis blurted out that the writing process for season 4 of Ted Lasso is already underworks.

When asked directly by Jason Kelce if a fourth season is in the works, Sudeikis immediately blurted out:

"That's what we're writing. We're writing Season 4 now... that's the official word."

Ted Lasso season 4 finally takes shape

Ever since season 3 of Ted Lasso wrapped, there has been indecision and vagueness revolving around the future of the Apple TV+ hit. Even though back in 2024, there were reports going around that Warner Bros. TV was exploring ways to get the show on track for a fourth season, there were no official confirmations made back then, leaving fans of the show in the dark for quite some time, - until now.

Sudeikis’ official confirmation on the Kelce brother’s podcast puts those uncertainties to an end. Speaking on New Heights, he not only admitted that Season 4 is being written but also implied at new storyline.

When Jason Kelce asked about Ted’s future in the next season, Sudeikis briefly talked about Ted coaching a women’s team. However, he kept additional details under wraps, playfully declining to answer additional questions about the fourth season of the show.

This latest progress and confirmation negates earlier gossip that the Apple TV+ show had finally met its end and would not be renewed. Fans online seem to be enjoying this confirmation, finding it amusing because they have always remained hopeful for a season 4 confirmation.
