Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has seen immense success on the streaming giant as it explored the events preceding the legendary series The Lord of the Rings. Created by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, the show has had a successful run of two seasons so far and things are looking up for the show's third season, which just got a quick update from star Cynthia Addai-Robinson.
Speaking to Collider, the actress told the publication about how the new season will have a time jump after the second season. Not revealing too many further details, Robinson expressed her excitement of being back on the show again.
"If someone has information for me, I would be asking the same thing. I can't tease much. I'm excited to get back to Season 3. There's a time jump—I know that that's been publicly said—with how we left off in Season 2. When we return in Season 3, we're going to be moving forward, and that's all I know. I don't know much else, but I am definitely excited to return to Middle-earth. It's obviously this weird shift to go from that to this, a contemporary story back to that. But yeah, I'll be excited to go back and see what they're up to over there."
The renewal of the third season did not exactly come across as a surprise to anyone as the second season ended with major plot twists. Fans are now hoping that the new installment will put all the curious questions to rest as we continue to explore the events of Middle Earth.
More details on The Rings of Power Season 3

The new season of The Rings of Power is being directed by several directors, including Charlotte Brändström, who has previously directed a few episodes in prior seasons and who will also be producing the new show.
Sanaa Hamri and Stefan Schwartz will be joining Brändström, with the latter joining as a new addition. J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay are showrunners this season as well and are also set to produce the show.
The season is expected to start shooting this April at Shepperton Studios, London. Talking about her experience on set, Cynthia Addai-Robinson said a few more words as she called the whole experience 'intimate' and 'familiar.' Talking about how proud she is to be a part of the show, she said,
"For me, what's always interesting is there'll be this giant scope to something like that, but at the end of the day, you're still responsible for being in service to the character and the story. So, there's the intimacy of looking across at your fellow actors and actresses and working with the director and working with the crew. That all feels familiar to me, whether it's a giant set piece or a windowless room. In the end, we're just trying to tell the best version of that story, and thankfully, we have incredible artists and resources behind it because it's a huge production and one that I'm very proud of being a part of"
The previous two seasons of The Rings of Power are available to stream on Prime Video.
