ABC has long renewed High Potential for a second season and the latest chapter will premiere this fall following a tense conclusion to the previous one. According to latest reports, High Potential showrunner Todd Harthan has opened up about the Morgan-Ludo chemistry and history, which will reportedly be explored in the upcoming season.
With their history of love and two children together, Morgan and Ludo's relationship has always been an up and down curve - from being partners for life to co-parents. Moreover, fans have been eager to learn about what went wrong with the pair and Harthan's latest statements on an interview with TV Line have finally spilled some beans.
He reportedly talked about Morgan's past involvement with Ludo and how a particular case "reminds her of that period in their lives". He even teased the viewers saying:
"I think the audience has a real appetite to find out what really happened. What was it like the day they sat down and had a conversation about what wasn’t working?"
High Potential Season 2 will explore the love history of Morgan and Ludo
Morgan Gillory (played by Kaitlin Olson), a highly intellectual cleaning woman with the Los Angeles P.D., is the heart of High Potential and Ludo Radovic (Taran Killam portrays) is her second ex-husband. The couple have two children together - Chloe and Elliot.
However, due to their differences, Morgan and Ludo eventually take a mutual decision to stay out of each other's lives. But they do agree at some point to continue doing co-parenting.
Morgan's unbelievably high IQ guides her through a case during her early days at the department and it earns her a respectable position at the LAPD. There she comes across Adam Karadec (played by Daniel Sunjata), another officer whose skepticism about Morgan Gillory initially annoys her. But the two soon turn out to be compatible partners in the field.
Morgan's increasing closeness with Karadec and other potential love interests like Tom (JD Pardo portrays) coming in the picture, the Morgan-Ludo chemistry has always been in question in High Potential Season 1. Moreover, fans were left in surprise after witnessing their highly concordant separation and how easily Ludo agreed to be a co-parent with Morgan.
High Potential helmer Todd Harthan recently opened up about the Morgan-Ludo chemistry on an interview with TV Line. He reportedly mentioned in a statement, saying:
"How did they decide how they should co-parent? What caused that? So now it’s our job to come up with a story."
Harthan further added, confirming that this question will be addressed in High Potential Season 2:
"A case hits a certain nerve and reminds her of that period in their lives. Or a new love coming into one of their lives where they have to sort of explore that chapter. We absolutely will tell that story. What happened between them? I think we’re going to answer that question this year."
