Unlike the original film, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith TV series focuses on two strangers recruited by a mysterious spy agency. The two spies have agreed to live under the alias of a married couple, as Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and carry out dangerous tasks.

While Maya Erskine and Donald Glover played the titular Jane and John Smith in Season 1, they also encounter Other Jane and John, played by Parker Posey and Wagner Moura. Since the fate of these characters was left uncertain in Season 1, it is currently unknown if the second Jane made it out alive.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 has been confirmed, according to Wikipedia, and actress Parker Posey recently shared an update on whether she would return for another season. During an interview with ScreenRant, Posey revealed that she has not been contacted for a new season to play Other Jane.

However, she did commend the unique narrative and her co-stars of the show. Not only this, Posey also mentioned her mother's reaction after watching the TV show.

Parker Posey on speculated return as Other Jane in Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2

Prime Video's Mr. & Mrs. Smith, known for its unique blend of spy action and romance, will return with a second season. However, actors Donald Glover and Maya Erskine's roles as the leading couple aren't confirmed yet.

This means that the sophomore season will likely have a new couple, covert missions, and never-ending drama. As mentioned above, Parker Posey talked about reprising her role in the upcoming season.

The actress said:

"No, I haven't [gotten the call yet]. But how much did you love that Wagner Moura? What a dream boat. What a dreamy guy. We had such a good time between the four of us and Maya and Donald and Wagner. Great group of people."

Posey continued:

"Really great, really great, great writing, so witty, so subtle, and they're just so bad, these rotten people, right? They just sold their lives. And then this couple isn't even married. My mom just really loved that, she thought that was hilarious."

While commending the show and its writing, Parker Posey shared that her mother was intrigued, too. Especially the twist that John and Jane weren’t married and agreed to live together.

As for Other Jane and John, they were injured but it was never revealed if they had died. So, if they survived the clash in Mr. & Mrs. Smith's Season 1 finale, the couple might return.
